1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Corset Look Bag on: June 11, 2005 05:01:17 AM
I made this bag out of an old pair of pants I had that was never gonna wear again along with some $1 a yard fabric from evil wal mart.  It is strung together with some bulky yarn.

Showing the lining.

I already tried that. PS7 says it's an invalid file. Sad

That sucks,  I don't know how to convert them to pdf but I could turn them into a png or jpg for ya.

the patterns on there look pretty cool, but they're all in AutoCad .dxf format. Is there any way to convert them to something sensible, like a pdf?

I can get over not being able to read Russian, but not being able to open the pattern is a bit of a stumbling lock!
I was able to open them with Paint Shop Pro.  I'm sure Photo Shop will open them as well.

ive been wanting to make a purse using the lined zipper pouch tutorial as well....

how did you get handles on it?

thanks, JAMI

I basically followed the tute as it went and added the strap after adding the zipper and before sewing the linings together.  The strap is between the lining and exterior fabric  I basically sewed the strap to the zipper and the two linings.

I took the pattern and put it on pattern ease for it to work better

what is pattern ease?

Those are so cute.  I really like the green and pink one with the dragonflies.

nope, I wasnt being sarcastic, but I'm poor right now and can't resist the deals.  once I finish school and start making good money I can be more politically selective of where I shop   Smiley

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / celtic raven jacket on: May 06, 2005 09:54:15 AM
I made this a couple years ago, but since I just joined in March and it's only now gotten warm enough to pull this out to wear, I thought I would share it.
I designed it based on the back of a cape worn on a statue of the Morrigan.  Designed on graph paper, then traced the outline to iron-on transfer paper, ironed it on the jacket then painted it up with fabric paint.  It's been through a couple washes, so some of the edges are not as straight as they used to be, but still looks good (at least I think so,  lol)

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 3 old skirts = messenger bag on: May 06, 2005 09:48:09 AM
I had some old skirts I havn't worn in years but could never give up because I love the fabric too much.  I needed a bag for school, so...

Excuse all the junk inside, I didn't want to remove everything  Smiley
