2  Embellished Lion Jacket with Adinkra Symbols in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by evil_plan_z on: February 28, 2009 02:21:31 PM
I made this jacket a long time ago... and never got around to posting it.

I cut out the lion image from a shirt I bought at farmers market, and attached it to the jacket using fusible interfacing and hand sewing, then I sewed the cowrie shells on. Finally I made the Adinkra symbol patches from some scraps from an old tote bag and the rest of the lion shirt. BTW that weird shiny line on the lions face is not noticeable in real life.

4  Adult Costume: If the shoe fits....JUST WEAR IT in Halloween Costumes by evil_plan_z on: November 01, 2007 01:49:01 PM
90% paper costume (poster board) except for the felt on the black Zebra Stripes, and the shoe strings. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=204454.msg2181602
I have white Barbie sneaker earrings, shoe strings braided into my hair with pink barbie sneakers at the end, and a pink swoosh on my face.

THE SNEAKER:
Made from painted poster board and felt for the stripes, such a PAIN, it was inspired by this shoe and I used this as a visual patternhttp://www.govacant.com/af1template.pdf

THE SHOE BOX:
its a giant replica of a Nike shoe box ,it was a plain box that I did surgery on and painted, thats a real nike shoe box on top of it

almost finished

the words are all gloopy and stupid because my white paint was all dried out.

test drive

5  SweatShop FREE Nikes ? now with PICS of the SNEAKER +a Wonder Woman (image PHAT) in Halloween Costumes by evil_plan_z on: October 27, 2007 11:36:25 PM

Some of you might recall my post from awhile back about choosing a costume, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=195504.  I settled on being Tia Dalma from POTC, then I saw that they sold her costumes on EBAY and I got sad. So then I decided to be Califiahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Califia the mythical amazon queen of California. and THEN I realized that I have costume ADD when I decided to be a transformer and then  a boombox. I collected my materials to make to a boom box costume and just looked at the box preg_replace('/(.{49})/', '$1 ', 'until...........................................................I') decided to be a SNEAKER,

THE SNEAKER:

and I helped my younger sister make her costume

6  I am going to be Tia Dalma from POTC in Halloween Costumes by evil_plan_z on: September 11, 2007 01:35:57 AM
Ok Thanks for all your Opinions I am going to go for Tia Dalma and Cleopatra as a back up

Tia Dalma  (the witch/calypso from pirates otc:at worlds end).

Her costume seems to be like a broke down Victorian dress, in some scenes it has sleeves in some it doesn't. I am going to go without them for simplicity

I want to do it with two parts like a skirt bottom and a top. My mom has a plain long kinda canvas puffy skirt that I can use as a base and add to. The top/corset thing is the only think I am worried about. So I am going to start working on it like this weekend, and I will be picking all you're brains so stay tuned.

Back Up
Cleopatra (or random Egyptian princess /goddess),

I think I figured out how to solve the white hair dilemma, I am going to attach (braid?) fake white hair, around my hair line, pin my hair down, put the head band thing on to cover where the white hair attaches  and let the white hair fall over my real hair, do y'all think this will work ? does it make sense ?  Huh here's a pic the red hair is the fake white hair, and the black is my hair on the first head, and in the second one, its the headband.

10  Storm from X-men NOW WITH PICS in Halloween Costumes by evil_plan_z on: October 05, 2006 08:44:36 PM
Yay HERE IT IS !!!

Me at the Kenyan Embassy, Storm descened from Kenyans

Me and more XMEN

My Costume in ACTION

UPDATE:
Making the Cape :
I used a black plastic table cloth, and I cut it up and trimmed it with yellow duct tape

I made two

Then I used some black and yellow fun foam sheets to make the cuffs, XMEN insignias for a belt and to attach the cape.

Here's the belt and the leggings and shirt I am going to wear:

Here's what the cape should look like hanging: I just played around with it , I put the X I made on to a button I alread had, and then I pinned the button to the cape, then I will pin the button to my shirt so the cape will stay on. Heres a close up:

Heres one of the cuffs, made from fun foam and duct tape, white hair spray, silver hair spray, and some glow in the dark earrings:

The Tiara: made from black fun foam
