91  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Project steampunk on: April 03, 2011 04:44:47 PM
This is a project I was working on. It is very hard to photograph because the container produces too much glare. I call it steampunk in a container.

It's inspired by the idea that the world had progressed into what we know know but those who decided not progress with times were forced into a world of their own. They survive by scavenging for scraps of metal and anything that could be useful in rebuilding the world as they know it, without micro chips and super computers.

A few pictures of the container itself:

And these are some clearer pictures of the figures inside:

Thank you for taking the time to look.

All feedback is very welcome!

Aww those are so cute Smiley I really like the blue one especially! I'm new to polymer clay and I had been wondering about what finish to use as well. I like the suggestions mentioned. Need to do some research to see if/where varathane is available in Canada.

Hi everyone,

Long time on-looker, first time poster. I've been a huge fan of all the projects here on craftster, especially this board. There are so many incredibly talented artists here! I personally have been trying out a variety of art mediums over the past few years and have just recently begun trying my hand at the art of polymer clay.

Christi Friesen, monsterkookies and azreno have been huge inspirations for my projects and I thank them wholeheartedly for sharing their amazing talent. I hope to one day reach their level of awesomeness!

Here are some mushrooms I have made (I'm new at this so they need a lot of work). I will be posting my steampunk project soon.

Enjoy, thanks for looking.
