1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland Dress on: October 10, 2013 03:52:31 PM
A while ago I had to reconstruct the red dress that Alice wears that the Queen of Hearts had made for her when she grew too big.

It took forever, and the skirt isn't as full as would have liked it to be, but I'm pretty proud of it. It was also the first time I used a pattern, so I can forgive the little things wrong with it.

Thanks guys! A skirt sounds interesting. Are there any patterns in specific? And any thoughts about shirts or dresses?
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Fabric Help on: April 01, 2013 06:58:59 PM
Hey all,

I bought this fabric a while ago not knowing exactly what I was going to do with it. Months later, I still have no idea what to make with it. From far away, or when it's draped the fabric doesn't look like bloody handprints, and I don't want something I can only wear on Halloween.

Any suggestions?
Patterns, ideas, anything would really help!

Wow ! Great idea ; ) Looks pretty. Twines made me wonder : is it comfy?
Oh, absolutely! The whole thing is a rather loose fit. The only problem is that there wasn't enough fabric for the bust in the end

I made my own deathly hallows necklace for the Harry Potter midnight premiere, because I'm broke and can't buy one. I took some paperclips, bent them into the deathly hallows symbol, and glued it all together. It ended up looking really messy, so I spent hours wrapping the entire thing in thread. All that effort payed off though. I really like how it came out  Grin

Sorry, I don't have a before picture. Undecided
Anyway, I had an old t-shirt which was all black with red sleeves. Boring.
So here's what I did:

Unfortunately it ended up being too small for me to wear as a normal shirt, so I now have a new bathing suit coverup  Grin
