21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Whee! Super-fast outfit for the bunny! on: May 28, 2007 02:47:43 PM
I made this Saturday night in about 2 hours. The top was a New Look pattern dress that only has 4 pieces. And the pants are a pj pant pattern that I just sewed cylinders of scrap fabric from the top onto the hems with elastic thread (MY NEW LOVE!!!! More of that coming soon. Seriously, I think I'm going to build a shrine to the stuff.)

Hooray for fast and easy! And elastic thread!

23  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: printed linen coat on: May 21, 2007 08:26:18 PM
Amazing! The fabric is awesome and I like the coat, neckline and all!

And I love how her hair is getting more curly in every picture you post! So cute!
24  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: halter dress for my lil one on: May 19, 2007 06:54:16 PM
oh, and YES....it was just a temporary tattoo on her chest. Roll Eyes

Hee. My bunny has two fake tats on right now - one on her ankle and one on her right shoulder, also just like mommy.

I am dumbfounded by how many people have asked me if they're real.

Sure, I'm in more tears than she is when it's time for shots - but I just thought that it'd be fun to hold my toddler down in a chair and let somone ink her up in a permanent design of my choosing!  Roll Eyes

I adore that halter dress! It's way too cute.
25  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Not sewing, but an accessory for what you sew hairbow TUTORIAL on: May 19, 2007 01:27:55 PM
Thank you so much! I just recently bought a "tutorial" on how to make something similiar and it actually said "buy a bow maker" I was livid.  Angry

The same thing happened to me last year!!! Pissed doesn't even begin to describe how I was feeling. Especially because she gave ME negative feedback for leaving "trade secrets" when I gave her negative feedback. I put "she tells you to buy the ez bowmaker" in in  Roll Eyes and she put in my feedback that I was ungreatful!! Seriously!

Of course I was ungreatful! I paid her $10 for her to tell me to go buy a piece of $10 equipment! I'm irritated all over again.

Rant aside, thanks for the tute! These are exactly the type I'm always looking for to accessorize the bunny!
26  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / How I hate to gather on: May 16, 2007 07:50:31 PM
...but gather I did for the bunny's newest dress - it's New Look 6689:

I didn't get the edge of the ruffle all the way up to the top of the button-y part, but no way was I going to rip up the whole thing just for that. Maybe I'll try the pattern again using elastic thread to sew up the ruffle piece. Aside from the ruffling/gathering mess, this dress came together in no time flat.
27  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: button shirt to toddler dress recon (lots of pics) on: May 15, 2007 10:50:39 AM
Fabulous! You found the true calling for that shirt! It's gorgeous and she looks divine in it!

I would also love a tutorial if you have the time to post one. Getting my husband to throw/donate any of his clothes is sheer torture, but I'll bet he'd be more willing to see them go to a good use!
28  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / Re: hair bows? on: May 07, 2007 07:47:06 PM

Perfect!!! You are officially my hero of the day with the chick who set up that website running a close second. Thank you!
29  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / hair bows? on: May 06, 2007 08:49:32 PM
I know they're not technically clothes, but whatever.

Anyone have any good hints at how to make the "boutique bows"?

It feels like something I ought to be able to figure out on my own - and I have made some - but they don't turn out like the ones you see on ebay and such.

I even went so far as to buy a pdf instruction set once. The chicks first word of advice was to buy an EZ bow maker. THAT p*ssed me off enormously. "Hey, thanks for your $9.95! Now go spend another $10 so you can make the bows I said I could teach you to make!!".

Grrrrrr.

I also don't want to spend the $$ again because I just want to whip up some basic bows. I don't need/want to know how to make those gigantic, layered things that make kids look like potted plants or like a ribbon monster is trying to eat their head.  Wink

No offense, of course, to anyone who does like that kind. The bunny and I just aren't frilly, girly-girls.
30  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Old tee to cute lil' dress (somewhat Image Heavy) on: May 06, 2007 08:28:36 PM
BEAUTIFUL!!! Seriously, I adore this! It looks like something you'd see on ebay or in a boutique for mucho $$.

Gorgeous little model, too!
