My daughter and I have been making hats from unloved sweaters for years, but recently I found a way to get more hats out of one sweater by using the sleeves!

This is a felted lotus flower with an ASIAN trinket and button

THIS HAt I call raindrops keep falling on my head, because the rainclouds are so sad,,,

THIS HAT has a little wooden  square with a painted bird in the clouds,,

And so he does! But would he DIE for you? Never. Jesus loves you much, much more! (Cute dresses though!) LOL
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Mermaid crown on: November 17, 2009 09:52:59 AM
Yes! It's on a headband/little crown that I found at the thrift store. It was done in a red Asian (Chinese maybe?) fabric that went to what I believe was a traditional dress/gown. I re-wrapped it with the tulle and hot glued the shells and bubbles. It was actually quite heavy and I had to take the hair from the wig, twist it up and loop it around the back of the band to secure it in place.
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Mermaid crown update: I guess it wasn't so great afterall! LOL on: November 16, 2009 10:24:56 PM
I don't know what's happened to Craftster. I used to like to come on here alot because it seemed like folks were really supportive and all. It's such a great feeling to labor on a creative endeavor and get opinions from people other than your immediate family! LOL But, I stopped posting awhile ago because after the format change, I could no longer find what I wanted to right away and there seemed to be less people, or less of the people that I was familiar with online. So, although I've continued with my various projects, for the most part, I haven't posted them here. My recent attempts have met with little/no comments whatsoever, so I will now say thank you and goodbye to Craftster.  I wish everyone well and pray that one day it might return to the good ol times when it offered the opportunity for a closet crafter to come out and showcase their wares!

Posted a little late, this was my last minute Halloween outfit! I had a long vintage sequined dress in a beautiful aqua with what seemed like tiny sand dollars, so I decided to make a crown.

Um, the "wig" was from my daughter's Beyonce costume last year! lmao

OOH! I think it's lovely! I also love to recycle cashmere (into hats), but would love a tute on how you made this!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: A Nightmare before Christmas Skirt. (picture heavy) on: June 28, 2009 05:42:02 PM
Very nice, excellent drawings! I would recommend a thick belt of black fabric (like an obi type) or, a thick leather one to cover the elastic. Other than that, wnere a tee shirt or sweater over the top!
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: The Last Supper Blasphemer's Bathrobe on: June 28, 2009 05:39:26 PM
That was a truly funny story! And the robe turned out great! I am a Christian and a believer in "devine design" lol, so I don't think that the choice of fabric and the creation of the "robe" were an accident. If you find yourselves wanting to know more about the Last Supper and other stories about Christ, you don't have to go all the way back to the fabric section at Walmart, just crack open the other little black book, the bible! (No offense intended to the non-believer's out there, but I couldn't resist!)
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Vintage Vogue Wedding Dress on: June 15, 2009 08:32:43 PM
That is so beautiful and really captures the type of dresses I remember my mother and aunts and their friends wearing. So very elegant, I love the raw silk and the lace, your friend should be ever so honored to wear this dress!
