I don't know what's happened to Craftster. I used to like to come on here alot because it seemed like folks were really supportive and all. It's such a great feeling to labor on a creative endeavor and get opinions from people other than your immediate family! LOL But, I stopped posting awhile ago because after the format change, I could no longer find what I wanted to right away and there seemed to be less people, or less of the people that I was familiar with online. So, although I've continued with my various projects, for the most part, I haven't posted them here. My recent attempts have met with little/no comments whatsoever, so I will now say thank you and goodbye to Craftster. I wish everyone well and pray that one day it might return to the good ol times when it offered the opportunity for a closet crafter to come out and showcase their wares!
Posted a little late, this was my last minute Halloween outfit! I had a long vintage sequined dress in a beautiful aqua with what seemed like tiny sand dollars, so I decided to make a crown.
Um, the "wig" was from my daughter's Beyonce costume last year! lmao
This is a watercolor I did for my Gerontology class depicting dementia,,,
This is a sketch I did for the same class. I forgot to add, this is my very first attempt at painting something, using watercolor and whatnot, unless you include kindergarten over 40 years ago! My mom has this terrible disease and I just needed another way to start expressing myself and letting go of some of the stress, I'm not an artist, I sew or write normally.
A bunch of hats left over from a craft show at the ArtPod in Rancho Cucamonga. Sold a few, took orders for more, and dropped off the rest at Bunny Gunner Gallery in the downtown Pomona Art Colony! Some of them have matching arm warmers.
Mine are messy, messy, messy! I was in such a hurry to make some that I cut pictures out of old books, and tore up some jewelry that I had! LOL I didn't even use gloves, and the fumes made me want to pass out, but here are my spoons! What the heck do I cut off the bottom of the spoon with??? Thank you to Glitterkick who makes the most beautiful spoons. I'm looking for inexpensive but beautiful things to make for Christmas. I liked the spoons because you can personalize them and I've always cut up thrifted cashmere to make hats, gloves, throws and scarves.
a song sparrow
a blue bird
Now that I've got the initial adrenaline out of me, I'll take my time on the next ones that I make for family! (Still got to cut off the bottoms!)
I'm sleepy so I know these pictures are awful. But it's so ding dang hot I've been staying up at night sewing and there's no good light for pictures. Anywho, this is more vintage stash material featuring a circus or carnival actually at the border and fireworks above that scene. The top is black t-shirt jersey. It looks better on my daughter so she gets it when I hem it! Better pics and less talking tomorrow! Nite, nite! Edit. This one taken in the light of day, still not really clear but me and camera phones are the best I can do!
I always have vintage fabric in my stash and because most of it is very bold, sometimes it's hard to know what to make. But I found this really fun pattern that had the wrap pants, a hat, flip flops, a tote bag and two top variations at the thrift store! These are the pants. (Someone else on this forum made some just like them in a solid fabric,,) What do you think??
I made this one out of a cotton stretch with attached tube top and short skirt so that I could actually wear it this summer. I think this looks more casual than the dress up Infinity dresses, but I really, really like the tie dye effects when you wrap it different ways!
I just noticed a theme with my colors! My last dress was dyed pink too! I think I'm going to go out and get a different color dye next time!
I am rolling on the floor clutching my heart!!! LOL That's my first love,,,flower's and the garden! I have some tiny clovers that I just stare at because they're just sort of appear in random places, but your corset is super awesome! MMMMMMMMMM,,garden-y goodness!
