I'm just trying to describe this coaster I have made, does any one know if this type of pattern has a name?It is stitched in k1, p3, k1, p3...etc then switching every 3 rows.

I used 2 balls of purple Big Softie yarn, and only cast on 60 as most hats seem to fall off my tiny head!

I made some cupcakes yesterday, some that I have made before many times. But this time they came out with kind of a dense rubbery texture rather than the usual light fluffiness. This also happened about a year ago when I made a chocolate cake. I followed both recipes exactly, but the recipe isn't to blame as I have made both cakes many times before with no problem.

Does any one happen to have an explanation for this?

So I've been seeing a few of these mini lace skirts around in the shops and evertime I think I could so easily make this myself. So I did!

Wasn't completely from scratch as I used a £4 H&M skirt as a base - and then sewed the lace to it. But you could easily make that base by cutting the top part off a t-shirt.

I'm also quite lazy so I didn't put a zipper in . I just made the skirt somewhat stretchy by stretching the jersey skirt as I was sewing the lace on so the lace was ruffled.

Unfortunetely they didn't have the right type of food colouring in my local shop so they ended kind of brown, but hey-ho it's the taste that counts and they came out rather delicious!





And of course the cat did feel the need to help!

Here's a recent drawing I did of my partners Gretch. Kind of messed up the neck as ran out of room... Silly me! Haven't drawn propertly for nearly 10 years and would like to get back into it again. So any comments or advice are welcome!

Hi there, one of my sewing machines,which is just as basic a sewing machine you can buy has recently started being a bit awkward  , it keeps dropping stitches in both zigzag and straight stitch. After a while it also breaks the thread from the top bobbin. It doesnt seem to be a problem with either the thread or the tension and I tried different settings..

Has anyone else had similar problems and found a solution?
