2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Selling candy / sweets? on: October 06, 2006 06:12:10 AM
I have a friend who started selling Suckers/Lollipops at my school and I was wondering what could I sell and not make it seem like competion. I was thinking Rock candy and ive started with that. But it take forever to make. I cant wait a week just to sell a few sticks. I need something to sell that takes less then a day to make and can sell for a dollar or two... Maybe cheaper. But i dont want to go higher. Not many High School Kids want to pay 3 bucks for a stick of candy. So if anyone could give me ideas that would be helpful. Im also looking to put this on my website too. I dont want to make suckers and make it seem like im competing with my friend. You can post recipes or just what to search on here.
3  Texas / Texas: Southwest / West Texas on: October 04, 2006 08:14:54 AM
OK I am looking to meet people in my area. I live in Midland/Odessa Area. Right outside of Odessa before you get into Midland. But I was hoping people from: Odessa,Midland, Andrews, Gardendale, Monahams, Kermit, Seminole, or anywhere in the area. Would like to get a craftster club type thing going. Like a Book club for craftsters. I would love to set it up but 1) I'm only 15 and not many people trust teenagers. 2) I live in an apartment with limited space. So if anyone is willing to have a place open... I can make flyers and get people to come. I will set you a date and time that is ok with the person's house we are at. And i was thinking 1 maybe possibly 2 times a month. I am a sewer and jelwery maker. This is not limited to just crafts. Maybe cookers and Painters. But This would be a great way to make new friends and show people your products and possibly sell them. Hopefully someone will reply to this or pm me. This can be alot of fun.
Thanks

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Interfacing and Totes on: September 13, 2006 08:17:18 AM
Ok i have two topics with alot of questions

1.Interfacing... Excatly what is it and what does it do to your bags? Is it expensive? Ok if i never used interfacing before what are tips that you could give me? And what is your favorite kind? Is interfacing just for bags?

2. Totes... I want to make  book bag kinda of totes but i dont know how to make a bottom really sturdy.. i was thinking cardborad? but i really dont know... And straps.. what would i use to make the straps sturdy enough? I want these totes to fit: a textbook, pen pencils, calcuator, A reading book, binder, and a spiral or two... How would i achieve this? And i havent ever put in a zipper so i could try a pocket for things... but i want to make the bottom and the straps sturdy enough to hold all these things. Please let me know.

Thanks for all the help and if i have another question... Ill probally post here... Thanks
