301  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Mail Me Art! (SIGNUP 4/21/2011-4/26/2011 ; MAIL BY 5/7/2011) on: April 26, 2011 03:40:21 PM
I'm so excited to get started I can hardly wait until tomorrow morning. It reminds me of being a kid around Christmas. I wonder if it's like this for everyone for their first swaps?
302  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: Exeggutor on: April 26, 2011 01:43:51 PM
When I saw this I laughed so hard! Just last night I was talking to a co-worker about this pokemon and he had no idea what I was talking about.

He thought I was talking about Togapi.

How did you get the leaves to stand up? Did you put wire in them or is it just carefully arranged?

So totally stoked for this swap. I think it's an easy and fun one for a swap newbie.

favorite artist and favorite painting kind of stumped me, it's always difficult for me to think on the spot when filling out these questionnaires

I almost left it blank too. I like so many different things it's hard to narrow it down to just one!
304  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Another wedding cake on: April 24, 2011 08:43:44 PM
Wow! I was working with polymer clay over the weekend but your cake looks so much better than the things I was making. The outside actually looks like frosting and the little piping details are really cute.

Did you make it as a gift for your cousin or did you just like the way the cake looked.? =)
305  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First Baby Blanket on: April 24, 2011 06:34:01 PM
So this is the first blanket I've ever made and only about the 5th sewing project I've done so far. I made it for a friend and his wife who just had their first baby. They had been trying for years and was so excited when they told me they were having a little boy I had to make this.

Close up of the Dino and his face so you can see the stitches.

And the back. I love blue checks for the little boy.

Also a big shout out to amemm for her blanket corner tutorial. She's the reason I found crafster at all.
306  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: day of the dead / rockabilly holy family on: April 24, 2011 03:36:08 PM
I love that they are skeletons but Joseph still has a big bushy beard. It adds to the quirkyness of the paint job. =)
307  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Tropicalia bicycle seat covers on: April 24, 2011 03:34:21 PM
What a really neat idea. I have a plain black bicycle seat that gets really hot if you lock it up out in the sun. I may have to experiment as I have a narrower seat on my road bike.
308  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: beatrix potter swap? on: March 30, 2011 02:04:04 PM
I loved these books as a kid. When I would visit my Grandma and Nana (great gramms) we would read these to them. My Nana was legally blind so she couldn't read to us, but I remember her listening to us read aloud and being so proud.

I would love to do a swap based on this, but I've just joined. =( I've been lurking forever and just signed up about a week ago.
309  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Hilary Duff's wedding cake on: March 30, 2011 01:40:41 AM
When I first saw this I thought the picture in the middle was the real cake. Don't be too hard on your butterfly either. I think it's really cute.

This is absolutely adorable! My favorite part is the little bundt cake with frosting.
