11  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: eggplant stroganoff on: February 17, 2013 08:38:52 PM
This looks soooo good. I always make stroganoff with just mushrooms, but it looks like it would taste really good with eggplant too.

Recipes like this work really well with soy milk too for anyone that can't have dairy.

Or maybe only one decision if it's to go on a cruise.

Ooohhh burnnnn to Carnival.
13  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Painted decorative pillow on: January 05, 2013 05:12:46 PM
Thanks for all the comments everyone. I was very pleased with how it came out (even with the wonky sewing) and might paint some birds on canvas to put up in my living room.

It's funny that you mentioned the serious look in his eye too Ivy Mae because I actually have that little part of the painting as my phone's wallpaper. lol  Grin ;

I want to eat those artichokes sooo badly. They look delish!

I'm also debating putting in an owl as it is something I would really like to do and could use some cheering along. I'm waiting until I'm done sponsoring someone at work to make my final decision though!

Hello everyone. This is my first Semester and boy have I been busy! I was so excited and started making stuff right away, but haven't had a chance to post anything until now.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Defense Against the Dark Arts - Kappas
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Kappa bento
Project Page Link (if available): n/a
Brief Description: I was really inspired by this class and have always thought kappa a great part of Japanese mythology. I made a kappa bento including: Rice with nori cut out of a kappa, green salad with home made dressing in livestock shaped containers (kappa like to go on land and kill livestock), sesame seed cucumber salad (cucumber is their favorite), and some veggies that looked green/bumpy/slimey like a toad.  Cheesy

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Gemini Challenge
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Christmas cookie plates
Project Page Link (if available): n/a
Brief Description: Cookies for the neighbors. So many of the same thing. No final picture because my camera with all the good pics all wrapped up got stolen. At least insurance is covering it though.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Detention over the Holidays
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Christmas tree
Project Page Link (if available): n/a
Brief Description: My family decided not to do gifts this year since my MIL and FIL flew out to Hawaii to visit with us. The one thing she really wanted though was a Hawaiian themed Christmas three (and sushi, but I didn't make that) Of course I dragged my feet on making it and there are no decorations that are not crazy expensive. So I made a hula girl topper out of a thrift store Jasmine barbie, made a shell and net garland, threw on some Hibiscus flowers, and got some hawaiian fabric for the bottom. She loved it!

Last one I promise!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Holiday Recipe
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Yummy vegan Banana nut muffins
Project Page Link (if available): http://savvybrown.com/health/moist-vegan-banana-bread/
Brief Description: We make this vegan banana bread all the time since we did a month long vegan/vegetarian challenge. The only thing I add to the recipe is more cinnamon and a handful of chopped walnuts. Was a great hit at the work Christmas party last year!

17  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Avatar Round 4 / Legend of Korra / All things Avatar GALLERY! on: September 19, 2012 09:34:40 PM
WOOOOOO!! I'm finally posting all the awesome things I received from the_essence. The Navy has been working me like dog, so sorry about these pictures taking a little while.

My husband and I opened the package together. He was actually really excited about this box and helped me tear it open. It was bound pretty good with duct tape.

First a teaser:

I really wanted some propaganda and received this awesome print:

I also received a very nice inspirational poster. The picture she took in venice and added in the avatar statue. It includes one of my favorite quotes from the ATLA.

Next I got a letter from the Republic City Metalbending Police Force Management with this box.

Inside were my Metalbending Police Force badge after having been repaired and polished as well as a Fire Nation Emblem from General Iroh for my team's work with the United Forces. I also got some Earth Kingdom coins and some little metal fans from Kyoshi.

Below is a picture of my Beifong Academy graduate pin after being repaired and polished as well. It was originally in the box, but had made it onto my favorite purse by the time I took pictures. IT IS SOOOO COOL!! I freaked out when I saw this. I can't wait for my Avatar friend to come back from the mainland to show her this.

And last but not least, a very large Amon propoganda piece. We are talking at least 24X36 and the entire thing is cut out paper and some marker for lines. You did not dissapoint with my odd request for propaganda!!

Thank you so much for everything. My husband and I really like everything and are going to get frames for the posters to put up in my craft room. I can't wait to wear my Metalbending Police Force Badge as well when I go to the mainland in a couple of months!
18  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Avatar Round 4 / Legend of Korra / All things Avatar GALLERY! on: September 11, 2012 11:08:56 PM
OMG! I received yesterday because they accidentally delivered to my neighbor. I am in love with everything. I didn't have time to open it until today after work. My husband is super excited about the package as well.

I will post pictures tomorrow after work! Don't think I forgot about you the_essence.

Didn't come today! Hopefully tomorrow. They are probably backed up with the holiday.
20  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: my little pony is melting on: September 02, 2012 02:48:01 AM
Really cute design even if it is washable.

I hate it when that happens though when you start and then you have that "Ahh dang it" moment. Mine usually happen when cutting fabric. Lol

At least he can use this for holding pencils or something in the mean time? Maybe you can redo it if you ever get better supplies later.
