461  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Completely Ghastly Edward Gorey Swap (SU Feb 22 - SEND April 15) on: February 05, 2013 12:38:05 PM
Edward Gorey Fact:

In the last few years of his life, Edward Gorey made many "Figbash" dolls which he sewed himself using various fabrics and filling with rice. He tagged and signed them all. I remember the auctions on ebay when he was still making them, they went for a lot even then. I remember the auction that went "This will be the last round of Figbashes." I knew then I'd never get one.....not to mention when one went for over 100 grand.

So he would probably have loved the idea of us all on Craftster crafting away with his themes.

My very own copy of Amphigorey arrived this morning and I've decided to join you in the fun.

Yay!

Am I a bad influence if I mention "Amphigorey Too", "Amphigorey Also" and "Amphigory Again" are out there?

There's a really cute clip of an interview with him on Yoo Toob, and about halfway through his musings a cat walks in front of the camera and stops for a minute. Then it walks on very nonchalantly. LOL

I have a big chunk of lime green merino that I need to do something with, if anyone has any suggestions of subjects.

How about one of these guys?

I don't feel ok, things are not running smooth on the work front money wise but I sat down and whipped up some pages while watching vampire diaries..

These are done very fast within 2 hours. I don't feel they are yet finished and journaling is missing but at least the collage part is down. I am glad I watched the video tutorial I posted a few pages earlier. I never thought I had what it takes to make art journals but now I feel like I can do it..

When you have such things going on, you could try to incorporate them into your journaling. It can make you create things you might never have tried otherwise.
