When gearing up for Halloween, I like to read spooky ghost stories, watch vintage horror movies and mostly decorate with vintage paper decorations. I am trying to grow pumpkins and gourds this year if the weather will co-operate. Usually, I go looking for a pumpkin on a country road being sold on an old farmstead. I just think it's one of the best things in life still left to do, picking out a pumpkin that someone lovingly grew, and paying in the coffee can or lockbox "free will" or "honor" style. The idea of trusting people to pay for something one grew is just so quaint and I hope it never goes away. Even if mine turn out this year, I will still go looking for a roadside stand.
Call me Pollyanna if you want, I consider it a compliment.
