It was no longer wearable, because of a really big hole in the back ...
But throw away? No way!
So I will show you how such a favorite pair of jeans also can be recycled quick and easy into a bag:

First you cut off the legs:

Then turn it on to the left side and sew the bottom opening:

This simple bag should be held with a long handle through the belt loops.
To do the front and back at the same height, there must be belt loops on the back. Opposite of the two at the front.
(The belt loop at center of the back is simply omitted.)
So just cut two pieces from a leg hem and sew new belt loops on the back of the jeans:

Now cut from one leg two long strips. Fold them an sew the long side. Then sew the two handels on one end together.
Put the handle through the belt loops (except the one in the back center) and sew the other end together:
