I started with a beautiful yellow gingham cotton fabric. I then created about 275 or so yoyos in spring colors and fabrics. I took these and sewed them together to make the front of the dress. This took so many hours that I actually almost gave up.
Then I took this front and placed and sewed it to the edge of the gingham. The edges are finished in self-made bias tape.
I made a matching bonnet. I added some adorable yoyos to the bonnet in a floral pattern. I then made a small purse/bag and added my yoyos to that.
To finish things off I used some cute daisy buttons at the top of the shoulders as well as on the bag and the bonnet.
As I stated earlier, it was a LOT of work, but it looks so graceful and pretty.
What do you think? Would your little one wear it?
Thanks, I needed to vent. This was such a project! LOL!!
