24  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / NEW ZEALAND / Bay of plenty? I'm dreaming! on: November 16, 2006 11:43:01 AM
Hi everyone.
I'm about to move up to Whakatane, and was wondering if by any chance there was anyone who lived anywhere even remotely close to the bay of plenty? I know, I' pretty much dreaming, but it would be lovely to have visitors, or someone to visit as I fear it's going to be quite a lonely wee town as far as crafties go!
I will , hopefully, be doing the auckland and wellington craftwerks all next year so that'll be nice, but a litle craftie-friendly-ness in between would be wonderful. : )
25  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / NEW ZEALAND / Re: Craftwerk is back (WTN, AK and....... CHCH!!!) on: November 06, 2006 09:19:46 PM
This next one in wellington is 5-9 i think, and one of the others i went to was in the evening too. Not sure about ack and chch though. My guess would be evening.

As for mixtapes, I'm pretty sure they have to be tapes. But don't take my word for that.
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Two new coats for autumn/winter on: November 06, 2006 10:44:35 AM
I too think these jackets are amazing! It's coming up summer here, but I'd adore a coat like this for next winter.
If you were so kind as to do a tutorial anything at all would be helpful : ) But for me particularily just the manipulating of the blocks would be great. I always get confused as to where to add the seams etc. : )
Thanks!

heh by wellington being all ages, she means it's R18 this time round.  Tongue

As for it being kinda scene, well yeah.. most things are these days. There are scene kids, and some stuff that's for sale is probably considered 'scene', but there are also dorky old stay-at-home mum crafters like me who tone the whole scene thing down. It's basically just a bunch of people who like to make things, a bunch of people who (hopefully) want to buy craftiness, and some bands who like to support craftiness.

(I was hoping to find one of those necklaces!)
30  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Trash to Fashion - 5c Coin Dress on: September 10, 2006 10:21:28 PM
I second the 'yay for new zealand!'. And I also second the missing of the old coins. I can't stand these new ones! gaah!

I love the dress. I really like the fact it doesn't look too much like a entry for a competition. you know what I mean? It's an outfit that, despite the weight, you might actually be able to wear. Well I would. hah. Anyway. It's great!
