1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / My attempt at the Jordy bag on: April 10, 2011 12:27:42 PM
I picked up some shirts at the base thrift store and decided to try making a tote out of them. It's a little floppy, but I only have lightweight interfacing. I really need to get something else to make bags stiffer/sturdier, suggestions? I also need to be able to buy it online using Paypal.

Anyways - here's my bag. I'm going to use it as my beach tote since it's so roomy inside.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Quilted wallet - I'm sewing obsessed on: April 05, 2011 09:40:48 PM
This is my 4th sewing project and my last for a while because I'm about out of fabric. I really need to order some online.

I used That Darn Kat's tutorial http://darnkat.wordpress.com/quilted-fabric-wallet-tutorial/. It took me a long time to make this, but I'm pretty happy with the result. I used US Navy NWU fabric and a black and white print.

I couldn't really figure out a good spacing for the snap closure, so it's a little taller than I'd like when it's closed. The next time I make one of these I'll figure it out.

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tampon roll on: April 04, 2011 05:30:49 PM
I've been browsing this section of the site for a while looking for small projects to do so I can learn my way around the sewing machine. I came across this tutorial for a tampon cozy and decided to try it  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=281346.0

I don't have much fabric right now, so pretty much none of the patterns coordinate with each other, so I just used a single pattern. I used a pony tail holder in place of using a snap/button since it was all I had.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Bag made from old military pants! on: April 02, 2011 04:39:29 PM
This was my first attempt at making anything larger than the size of my hand  Cheesy

My husband had an extra pair of BDU pants laying around that he doesn't wear anymore since switching over to the new Navy uniforms, so I decided to cut them up and make myself a bag! It's not lined because I couldn't figure out how to do that, but it still works for me! The pockets are functional and the back side has functional pockets as well (the normal ones found on the front of pants).

Here's the link since I can't post a picture yet

I also attempted to make the Keyka Lou business card wallet and I think it turned out pretty well. It was super easy to make too!
