21  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Michael Kors Aran Tee from Vogue Knitting on: October 24, 2005 06:50:42 AM
(photo c/o Guessica!)

I just bought yarn (um SUBSUTUTED - no $300 top for me thanks) and started the first few rows.  The directions could have been written clearer but once you get what they did it seems to make sense.

...anyone?   Cheesy

23  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / self designed patchwork scarf/wrap thingy! (pic heavy) on: October 20, 2005 07:33:19 AM
ok, so this has been a month long endeavor - mostly this was a germ of an idea in my head for a while before it clicked and once it clicked it was all what goes where...
It is made with all these LUSH yarns that I picked up here and there - mohair, merino wool, silk, cashmere, angora and is incredibly soft.  The edging is this fabulous tube yarn that is basically a knitted tube and it worked SO well with this because it moves with the piece.

enough of my ramblings.. here are the pics:

and some closeups:

Thanks for looking
24  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / blocking lace on: September 22, 2005 10:56:38 AM
I am just wondering if i do this right or am messing up my pieces, but are you supposed to stretch it slightly after you wet it and lay it flat?
thanks!
25  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / dangly necklace w/ vintage pieces, knitting, locket on: September 16, 2005 07:43:50 AM
Hi!

This is the first time I have posted in this section.  here is a necklace I built around the knitted heart.  I bought this fantastic vintage locket (sorry the picture below is CRAPPY!) and made a little collage in it with paper, silk yarn (same as the heart) and typing.  the text says "so nice to see you."

26  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / juggling cable needle techniques? on: September 14, 2005 02:41:54 PM
hi guys -- i am just starting to play with cabling and it seems pretty easy except for the whole juggling the extra needle.  does this get any easier with practice or is there a certain way to hold the extra needle to make it easier?
any tips would rock!  Cheesy
27  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 1 skein of noro = buttony neckwarmer! (pattern inside!) on: September 06, 2005 06:19:50 AM
I found some Noro silk garden on sale at a LYS and they only had 1 skein of this particular color so I bought it not knowing what I would do with it -- later on I decided it would be perfect to practice making buttonholes.  below are the results:

Side view white buttons: (ha! with knit potholders in the background!)

ok my camera sucks and cut off the buttons -- here is the front view

view with both buttons:

and lying flat:

there you have it.  It was a really simple and fast project -- if anyone is interested I can post the pattern I made up for this.
Thanks for looking!   Cheesy
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / know of any lace sock patterns? on: August 30, 2005 11:30:17 AM
hey!  i am looking for a lace sock pattern where the lace is also on the foot of the sock as opposed to just on the cuff. any thoughts or ideas?
thanks!
29  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / GIGUNTIC Silk Sweater on: August 26, 2005 09:11:51 AM
Hi!  I knit this sweater for my designer friend and it will be appearing in his fashion show here in NY in a few weeks.  It is knit with this incredible silk tape and I used size 35 needles for a majority of the piece with the exception of the rib which was size 9.  I got this done in 3 days partially because I hated working with the size 35 needles - though I had suggested it but I had forgotten how cumbersome it was working with them - plus I had straight needles - not circular - oh my.  Ok, enough of my chatter - here are the pics - enjoy!

I also must apologize for the quality of these pics -- my camera is my cameraphone and - well - it sucks.

Thanks for looking!  Cheesy
