aww, thanks guys!   this site has so much amazing stuff on it!

to try to answer your questions:
 - the pattern was something i made up, but basically it was knitted not around, but sideways and i inserted the "pleats" after i got the desired length and sewed it together.
- the hearts were appliques that i knitted after - i thought just the skirt by itself was a little lacking and so i was playing around and came up with the knitted hearts (i was really happy when they worked too!).  i could definately make a tutorial on those one day - they were fun to make.

and cary -- i didn't start that long ago, it just takes some patience and at times lots of starting over... Smiley

so this is a skirt i just made.  when i started it my intention was for it to be a shirt, but as the pattern was taking shape, it seemed more fitting (and flattering) as a skirt.
i was really proud of my knitted hearts too!  Cheesy
