1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Bridesmaid dresses to be reconned! on: August 06, 2011 06:47:04 PM
I came into a windfall of bridesmaid dresses (all the colors of the rainbow!) and am making stuff with the material
Any ideas of what else I can do?  I was thinking Christmas scarves for the family with fleecy stuff on one side and silky on the other. . .

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Gored skirt from t-shirts -- how do I not wreck it? on: March 18, 2011 12:03:00 PM
I'm making a gored skirt from old t-shirts but am wondering what i can do to avoid having them fall apart --

it's based on this tute:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=311889.0
which I LOVE ( I made one for my dd from her old receiving blankets and it's BEAUTIFUL)

I'm making it reversable by joining each section bottom to bottom with the "reverse" section -- I thought that would make it a little heartier.  Should I "french" seam each section?
TIA!

The little guys:

The big one has a flap at the bottom with a pocket for the others to fit into:

I used an owl pattern that I found here, but I'm sorry -- i can't re-find it to credit the person!  If anyone recognizes them, let me know!
