The hello kitty wallet is super cute!

thank you. it looks good in a picture. but it's sloppy tho. coz it was the first one i ever made. the card slots are too big.  the coin zipper was not perfectly sewn.  but i am still using it. but about to make another one, a smaller one, with the cherries to match that bag! Smiley

Oooh, I like the shoulder bag with the Cherries, really cute!

thank you! the cherry one is my latest creation, it is soo simple to make too.  there are magnets in the cherries to kinda shut the bag! LOL doesnt work too well tho, i guess i should actually buy those magnets specifically for purses instead of fridge magnets LOL
7  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: New Sewer - Overwhelmed :-/ on: March 22, 2011 09:04:56 AM
haha overwhelmed is my middle name! i am fairly new to sewing with a machine as well (well actually new to sewing period). and there are times when i had  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh in my head when reading instructions or patterns. but i never bought a book, i rely on the internet.  whenever i came across something i didnt understand, i searched online for an explanation or solution.  and sometimes youtube has lots of videos teaching you how to do certain things like zippers and such.

dont be discouraged! i went from not knowing how to operate a sewing machine to now quilting and embroidery all within a year, so trust me, there were hard times, headaches, blood and tears! LOL but at least all of us newbies are right there with you!  Wink
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ideas for First Sewing Projects! on: March 22, 2011 08:57:53 AM
i am pretty new to sewing as well, bought my first sewing machine in May last year, sewed some very simple Ren Fair costumes with the help of my neighbor. then i went to buy bunch of easy patterns and just started making them. now i am into recycling old jeans or sweatshirts, plus i cut out all the designs and logos from tee shirts to make a quilt.  i also make my own clothes now, simple clothes of course.

but i'd say a newbie should check out easy patterns to try to make something and learn all the terms in the pattern.

Hubby recently cleaned out his side of the closet and threw out tons of old jeans, so i kept them for my use! LOL

I made bags and wallets with his jeans, tho this was my first attempt so they are a bit sloppy  Tongue
