This is related to the idea of making them into bags, but how about making coin purses? 

How about making a pouch to store sunglasses, so they don't become scratched?

Batteries aren't really craft-friendly because they can leak.  The only thing I can think of is to stuff several into an old sock to use as a blugeoning tool for burglars and such.  Hmm.  This is hard.

My idea would be to string them alternating with beads and make a wall hanging or a curtain.  Very tropical.

Oh, and remember to use regular spray paint, NOT acrylic.  You can actually use the acrylic to seal the end product.  Sorry for the disjointed post, but I am not allowed to modify my posts.

One solution:  spray paint.

Spray paint eats away styrofoam.  So spray a light coat evenly, and you will begin to see it eaten away like as if by acid.  Spray more until you get the effect desired.
