11  Re: Wish Swap 2 Pics in The Swap Gallery by Flareon on: August 19, 2005 12:46:40 PM
Here are the things I sent to jm2luver21.  She wished for jewelry, school stuff, and anything Harry Potter, so I tried to do a little of those.

A Harry Potter notebook and some folders:

Some jewelry pieces in a velvet bag:

Lucid501 made me a lovely crocheted poncho for me.

Isn't it fabulous?  It's soft and a bit shimmery, too.  And it'll be perfect to wear for fall weather.  Thank you so much Lucid!   Smiley

Me!  I'm ready.   Smiley

These are what I sent to Apandalee:

The left is a tatted collage I made with white crochet cotton on a velvet background; the right is a striped scarf (I originally set out to make a skirt, but that didn't work out...maybe next time, right Apandalee?); the bottom is a fimo and beaded necklace (I tried to make it look like carved bone).

And these are what I received from her:

The left are a bunch of handmade postcards featuring my absolute darling Pepe Le Pew; the right are two handsewn wallets made of papery-type material (she may explain better); the bottom are a lot of little cuties: a pair of earrings, an adorable baby seal, a panda, a whale, and two exquisite pins of a penguin and a skunk made of quilled paper.  Lots of fun stuff here.  Thank you Apandalee!

Edit: On second thought, those animals deserve a closeup shot.  Here we go.

I wanted to post a pic of the bookmark I sent to Crazy Wazy on her behalf.  It's the one on the left.

Here are the lovely bookmarks I received:

The top left is from Avian Flight, an adorable love potion "bottle" featuring Pepe and Penelope.  I can tell the effort put into incorporating my preferences, and I totally appreciate that.  It makes me smile everytime I look at it.

The top right is from Princessandthebead, and I love all the different little beads!  *whispers* I was secretly hoping for a bookthong and now I got my wish.   Smiley

The bottom (sorry it's sideways) is from Kat penguino made from a record cover, which is such a cool and original idea.

Thanks to all my partners.

16  Re: Paper & Ephemera Swap Gallery (warning: may induce envy) in The Swap Gallery by Flareon on: July 12, 2005 06:07:59 PM
This is the equivalent of the pakages I sent to Stickeravenger and Skyra.  The little ones are actually art cards from a museum, suitable for framing.  Not shown here but included in the packages were some watermark document papers and cardstock already divided for ATCs.

Note: I've already received from Sticker, but not from Skyra so I'm going to wait until the second one arrives to post pictures.

17  Re: What makes a bedroom look "romantic" in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by Flareon on: July 08, 2005 10:19:28 AM
I've been contemplating getting a headboard/footboard from ikea.  This is what it looks like:

I have that!  LOL  When I moved for college, I furnished my entire 1-bed apartment (minus sofa and TV) for $1200 from IKEA.  That headboard is fabulous for the price.

Edit: before you commit to buy a canopy make sure you know exactly how it will appear in your room.  Even a small canopy tends to overwhelm the room it's in, making it look very small and stuffy.  If you really desire a canopy, there are ways to get around the shrinking-factor.  May I ask, how large is your room?

18  Re: `*Bag & Bracelet Swap*` Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Flareon on: June 24, 2005 09:56:04 AM
Ooh, am I first to have received?  Well here are the lovely creations from CraftyCarrie:

I LOVE the pattern on the fabric.  And the bungundy bow adds a lovely feminine touch.  It's a bit hard to tell, but it also has these sassy little buttons on each top corner.  It's roomy too, and has six slotted pockets within.  I can't wait to take it picnicing while wearing my big floppy black hat and tiered skirt.

Another beautiful creation.  I love the color, the multiple chains, and tassels are one of my favorite accents.

A gorgeous set of earrings and bracelet.  How does she know me so well?

I had so much fun receiving these, it's really too bad I can't reciprocate (my partner is someone else).  Thank you CraftyCarrie, you make me feel like the luckiest girl in this swap!

Yeep!  I got my package from Princessandthebead!

I mentioned that I liked victorian, gothic, or asian themes and she certainly didn't forget.  I still can't decide which one I like best, they are all so unique and beautiful.  And they look even more gorgeous in person.  Whoever gets her as partner is truly lucky I'm sure.  Thanks Min!   Cheesy
