11  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / THE GENTLEMAN on: October 11, 2012 12:46:14 PM
This is an 11X14 acrylic on canvas painting I did today. It is in a minimalist style and is a victorian-ish gentleman in a top hat with a monocle.
12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / THE BATMAN (update for swap) on: October 11, 2012 09:15:32 AM
(TRADE UPDATE AT BOTTOM OF POST)
These are my first ATC's Ive ever tried. I like the idea alot, being limited on size make you think outside the box. My cards are base off the graphic novel, Batman Broken City.

They are still really shiny, I havnt clear coated them yet. I hope I can lose the glare with out curling the paper.

(10-25-12) So Ive been going through and moving around alot of my completed works, and today I decided trade these off. PM me if you would like these for a trade. We can swap info and more but its first come first serve. Hope to hear from someone soon.
13  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Zombie G.I. Joe (pic heavy) on: October 09, 2012 03:40:24 PM
In between work and my painting I like to come up with little one day odd ball projects. Today was zombie G.I. Joes. First I attacked them with my dremmel, removing parts and adding wounds. Then I added polymer clay for guts and gore and the base. After baking , I finished them off with some new paint,

14  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mars Attacks on: October 06, 2012 07:51:07 PM
This is a painting I just finished tonight, it felt like it took me forever to finish. The painting is an 18x24 acrylic on canvas of the alien on the poster for the movie Mars Attacks. Im happy with the way it came out and its been awhile since Ive painted anything this big. It really got me in the mood, so I think Im gonna get some more canvas and paint bigger.

15  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Car Club Hoodie on: September 26, 2012 01:47:51 PM
My family is huge into the car culture. They all get together at car shows over the weekends and talk about motors and parts. However that mechanical skill has pasted me by. I am the "weird-o" of the group. Much to my fathers dismay I cant fix your intake, but I can hold a flashlight with the best of them. I can however make a pretty sweet hoodie using the freezer paper stencil technique. My friend of many years chughes225 taught my how to do this after making me a Star Wars shirt for my birthday years ago. I dont stencil on fabric very often, its fun and you get great results, it just never makes it to my head in time. I wish I would have got a pic of it being worn but no one was home at the time to model. So here are some close ups.

Here is the back of the hoodie.

And this is the front name tag.
16  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / "I Looked At The Trap Ray!" on: September 26, 2012 01:26:05 PM
Im a huge Ghostbusters fan and wanted to paint something from the movies. My first thought was of Slimer or the Ecto-1 but I wasnt happy with any of the pics I could find and I didnt want it to scream Ghostbusters. So when I found the screen grab of the ghost trap I knew it was the one. I like the color combos and the movement of the piece. The painting is 11x14 acrylic on canvas.

17  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Rabbit on: September 26, 2012 01:15:36 PM
The other weekend I was having creative block and could not find anything I wanted to paint. So after wondering around the house and internet for hours I saw my sisters rabbit just staring at me. So I snapped a quick pic with my phone and started to paint him. This painting is 11x14 acrylic on canvas and the picture does not do it justice.

18  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Dead Girl (Night Of The Living Dead) on: September 13, 2012 07:09:45 PM
This is a 11x14 acrylic on canvas painting of the little zombie girl from the original Night of the Living Dead film. My mother has already claimed her without asking. And more than once Ive walked into a room with her moving around and staring at the painting. Then she tells me how creepy it is that the zombies eyes are following her.  But she loves it none the less.

19  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Papa Smurf (update) on: September 12, 2012 06:22:12 PM
Heres a painting I did the other week of Papa Smurf. Ive really been into the new wave of minimalism posters and t-shirts that keeps popping up. So I racked my brain for a bit and came up with this. I love how with a few different shapes and colors you can tell a detailed story.

Im adding an update to this post because of some comments my little cousin has made to me. I have an eight year old cousin who is very into arts and crafts. And when I got to spend some time with her the other week I showed her some of my paintings. She is big into the Smurfs right now so I thought she would love my Papa Smurf painting. I was soooo wrong, she tore me apart with her unabashed eight years old thoughts. She was so mad about how I painted him "wrong" that I decided to paint her a more traditional smurf. So here it is, Im nervous to give it to her and hear her criticisms.

20  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Red Dragon (pic heavy) on: September 11, 2012 07:08:43 PM
This is an original sculpture I came up with one day while playing with some polymer clay. He is 3.5 inches tall 3 inches wide and 4 inches long including base. I painted him with acrylic paint and mounted him on a hand carved and stained block of wood.
