11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / blocking/shrinking a wool sweater on: April 08, 2004 02:00:10 PM
I made a wool sweater, but after I blocked it is seems to have stretched and now it's too big, despite me being careful and laying it flat to dry).  Is there a safe way to shirnk it?  I was going to just try soaking it in warm water quickly, but I thoguht I would check here and see if anyone had experience with this problem and a good idea on fixing it.
Thanks!
12  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Selling knitting-copyrights? on: March 24, 2004 01:40:53 PM
Hopefully this hasen't been addressed and I was just dense about finding a thread.  This is sort of along the lines of a copyright question....How much do you have to change a knitting pattern before you can sell it without infringing on someone elses work?  Are differnt colors or patterns enough? Slight changes in the construction?  Or maybe this does not matter at all?
Thanks!
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Felting Stockinette stitch on: March 17, 2004 06:29:45 PM
This may be a silly question, but I am sort of winging it on making a bag to felt (and I have never felted before).  I am knitting it on circular needles in stockinette stitch, I am thinking it will sort of be hobo bag style when done.  I am wondering, will felting flatten out the "roll" you get with stockinette, or will I have a felted "roll"?  Hope that makes sense....
thank you.
14  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Body Pillows on: March 16, 2004 05:48:10 PM
Hello,
I was hoping to make a "pillow corner" in our apartment with large body pillows for extra seating.  Now the question is, what to stuff the pillows with.....Poly fill tends to flatten out or get lumpy even if you fluff and stuff.  So I was thinking about filling it with buckwheat husks or something.
Has anyone made body pillows for seating?  What did you use?  Any tips or better ideas?
thanks!
15  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Crafting to help animals on: March 03, 2004 06:20:32 AM
Here is a good charity crafting site for those wants to help homeless animals.

I like the "Snuggles Project".  You can help animals and use up yarn remnants.  There is also a worldwide list of shelters so you can find one in your area to donate too.
Thanks!

17  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / tape loom? on: February 23, 2004 03:10:56 PM
Does anyone know where I can get a tape loom?  They are used to weave tape and ribbons.  I am looking to get one for historical reenactments so I can keep myself busy during encampments.

*This is actually for my sister*
18  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Yarn Alternatives for SNB projects on: February 23, 2004 05:59:27 AM
This may have been discussed before, if so I apologize.  Just the other day I found out my car needed $800 worth of work *surprise--YIKES--swoon*.  Needless to say I won't be doing much in the next months besides staying home and knitting/crafting.  My problem is some of the yarn in SNB is a bit on the pricey side, especially considering the car repair bill.  I was wondering if anyone had any luck using a less expensive yarn on any of the projects.  I am open to any and all suggestions.
Thanks much!   Smiley
19  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Homemade linen spray?? on: February 18, 2004 05:09:34 AM
Hi,
I love spraying linen spary on my sheets at night.  Problem is the store bought stuff is so pricey.  Any ideas on how I can make my own?  I have essential oils, but I know spraying then directly on my sheets is not such a good idea since oil will stain.
Thanks!  Smiley

Hi All,
Back in December I had a table at the Punk Rock Flea Market at MassArt in Boston.  I had a great time and was wondering if anyone knew of any similiar events in the Boston/MA area.
Thanks for your help!
