Yeah!  I have started eating at my desk and taking "lunch" to knit!  It's nice to get away and do something fun at work.

I like making marble magnets with the word bubbles.  Then you can make your own comics on your fridge using pictures of your friends.

I am way bored at work..any ideas on some crafts that I can do (without being too obvious) while I sit at my desk?  I have access to the usual office supply type stuff.

337  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / tape loom? on: February 23, 2004 03:10:56 PM
Does anyone know where I can get a tape loom?  They are used to weave tape and ribbons.  I am looking to get one for historical reenactments so I can keep myself busy during encampments.

*This is actually for my sister*
338  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Yarn Alternatives for SNB projects on: February 23, 2004 05:59:27 AM
This may have been discussed before, if so I apologize.  Just the other day I found out my car needed $800 worth of work *surprise--YIKES--swoon*.  Needless to say I won't be doing much in the next months besides staying home and knitting/crafting.  My problem is some of the yarn in SNB is a bit on the pricey side, especially considering the car repair bill.  I was wondering if anyone had any luck using a less expensive yarn on any of the projects.  I am open to any and all suggestions.
Thanks much!   Smiley
339  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re:any miracle remedy against flu? on: February 18, 2004 05:12:32 AM
Ginger is supposed to be good too.  Buy ginger root, slice it and heat it in some chicken or veggie broth.  Strain out the ginger root and drink the broth.  It's tastey and really soothing...well it is if you like ginger, which I do  Smiley
340  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Homemade linen spray?? on: February 18, 2004 05:09:34 AM
I love spraying linen spary on my sheets at night.  Problem is the store bought stuff is so pricey.  Any ideas on how I can make my own?  I have essential oils, but I know spraying then directly on my sheets is not such a good idea since oil will stain.
Thanks!  Smiley
