1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Picture Holder! on: September 09, 2007 10:05:34 AM
So I had this rock and it wasn't being very useful just sitting there. So I made it a picture holder! All I did was wrapthick wire around it, it was very easy. Here it is!
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / birthday card! on: August 14, 2007 09:20:43 AM

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / cactus cross stich on: July 31, 2007 02:02:41 PM
I did a cross stich! Its my first one, and i didn't design it myself, but I am still quite proud. I got the kit at Michaels, and it was only $1! How could I leave the store without buying it? Here it is!

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / fish! on: July 28, 2007 06:39:58 AM
Ok, you guys have made me love to embroider. My grandma taught me how when I was 8, and I always thought it was kinda boring. But then I look here and there is amazing artwork! So this is my initial freeform embroidery. Its in a frame, and sits on a dresser. I know it is a little plain and simple, mostly becuase I only used one stich in it. I'm working on learning other stiches. I hope you enjoy!

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knitty coupling... on: June 19, 2007 06:55:49 PM
So, I have decided to venture into socks. Which is quite a feat, mostly because I have only knitted scarves before. So I decided to make knitty's coupling from its new issue. However, I do not understand the beginning of the pattern. Does anyone know if I am supposed to use both circular needles from rows 1 through 38? Or am I supposed to use one and it will join later? As you can all probably tell, I am very, very confused. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
6  COOKING / Dessert / one big cookie? on: October 27, 2006 09:33:14 AM
I want to make one big cookie, like the ones at Ms. Fields and such. I've made one with pre made cookie dough, we just baked it longer than regular cookies and it turned out fine. Do you think that if i made the cookie dough from scratch that would work too? I think it would... but if you guys have any thoughts I would greatly appreciate it!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / still in scarf-mode... on: July 31, 2006 07:26:29 AM
I have been knitting for about a year and all I make are scarves, even though I live in Florida and use them one day a year. So here is another one for my collection. I did a elongated stitch pattern that I made up myself. Simple, but I think very classy.

Here is the scarf on the patio chair...

And here is a detail of the stitch pattern I used...

Enjoy!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / katia bamboo yarn ideas? on: July 12, 2006 12:27:41 PM
so, i went into a real yarn store for the first time the other day, and in my excitement i bought 1 skein of katia bamboo yarn in a lime green color. i would of bought more- but since i am a teenager with minimal funds- i left with only 1 very small skein. anyways- i was wondering if anyone a) has used this yarn before, and/or b) an idea of something that i could make out of this yarn. any ideas are much appreciated!!
10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / tree! on: May 07, 2006 06:09:26 AM
ok, so i am not sure if this belongs in this thread, but i consider it a work of art, so... here it is!

basically it is a bonsai tree. i was inspired by the atomic bonsai tree on some crafty website, i can't remember which one.

i think it represents how something beautiful, the tree, can grow out of something that is so ordinary, the box. and mostly everything i used was recycled... except the pipecleaners that i used for the base of the tree, the cotton ball in the leaf things, and the thread used to attach the fabric representing the leaves.

enjoy!
