So I had this rock and it wasn't being very useful just sitting there. So I made it a picture holder! All I did was wrapthick wire around it, it was very easy. Here it is!

I did a cross stich! Its my first one, and i didn't design it myself, but I am still quite proud. I got the kit at Michaels, and it was only $1! How could I leave the store without buying it? Here it is!

4  fish! in Needlework: Completed Projects by crazygeniusgrl on: July 28, 2007 06:39:58 AM
Ok, you guys have made me love to embroider. My grandma taught me how when I was 8, and I always thought it was kinda boring. But then I look here and there is amazing artwork! So this is my initial freeform embroidery. Its in a frame, and sits on a dresser. I know it is a little plain and simple, mostly becuase I only used one stich in it. I'm working on learning other stiches. I hope you enjoy!

6  still in scarf-mode... in Knitting: Completed Projects by crazygeniusgrl on: July 31, 2006 07:26:29 AM
I have been knitting for about a year and all I make are scarves, even though I live in Florida and use them one day a year. So here is another one for my collection. I did a elongated stitch pattern that I made up myself. Simple, but I think very classy.

Here is the scarf on the patio chair...

And here is a detail of the stitch pattern I used...

8  tree! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by crazygeniusgrl on: May 07, 2006 06:09:26 AM
ok, so i am not sure if this belongs in this thread, but i consider it a work of art, so... here it is!

basically it is a bonsai tree. i was inspired by the atomic bonsai tree on some crafty website, i can't remember which one.

i think it represents how something beautiful, the tree, can grow out of something that is so ordinary, the box. and mostly everything i used was recycled... except the pipecleaners that i used for the base of the tree, the cotton ball in the leaf things, and the thread used to attach the fabric representing the leaves.

9  peacock feather! in Needlework: Completed Projects by crazygeniusgrl on: March 28, 2006 06:00:24 PM
okay, so this started as a doodle then morphed into a very quick and easy embroidery! i don't typically embroider, hence the very simple stitch and design. but i like it. however, what shall i do with it?

10  BEETLE! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by crazygeniusgrl on: December 15, 2005 06:48:55 PM
Lately, i have been deviating from my usual pieces of oil or pencil drawings and instead into watercolor. This is just a quick painting of a hercules beetle i found in a really old animal/ wildlife book. overall, i like how it turned out, so far it is my best watercolor painting. Some things i would of done differently- put more texture into the tree trunk/ bark and i would of probably made it more anatomically correct. o, well. hope you like it!
