42  Re: Jim Henson swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by MeganCrafts on: December 30, 2011 12:41:08 PM
The Miss Piggy painting is really cute.

Here's what I sent jennilocker.  She said she liked all of Jim Henson's shows and Labyrinth, so I decided I wanted to make something from all of her favorites.

I found this Muppets fabric at Joann's and had to get it.  I found a super simple pencil case tutorial on Craftster and added felt lining to make it sturdier.  This was my first time sewing a zippered bag, so I'm pretty proud of myself.

One of the things she said she would really like to receive was matching hoodies for her and her daughter.  I wasn't able to get hoodies, so I did bags instead.  I found really cute kid's backpacks and large tote bags at Joann's and put Cookie Monsters on both.

I also put the Worm from Labyrinth on the other side of the tote.

And for Fraggle Rock, I did hoops with Red and Gobo on them, complete with fluffy yarn hair since I didn't have feathers.

I just realized that I never went back and put the stripes on Gobo's sleeves.  Oops!

I'm really how everything turned out and I'm thrilled that jennilocker liked everything.

43  MoMo Monster in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MeganCrafts on: December 28, 2011 06:40:37 PM
This is Maurice, aka MoMo.  I made him for the monster swap a couple months ago.

MoMo is a very happy monster, unless you mention his horns.  Once monsters of his breed reach a certain age, their horns start to grow and change color.  Unfortunately, one of MoMo's horns never grew in all the way.  He's a bit sensitive about it, especially because his sisters make fun of him for it.

He was a very pleasant monster to have around before he went off to his new home with the rest of his family.

I received an awesome package from jennilocker yesterday.

She sent this super cute Kermit painting.

And a shirt with some of my favorite Muppets on it.  It's kind of huge on me and I'm messy and don't trust myself to wear white shirts, so I think I'm going to try to figure out something to make out of it.  The drawing is too great to not show off.

And my favorite out of the package.  It's going to be my new library bag.

Thank you so much jennilocker!  I hope you love your package as much as I love mine.

My partner didn't end up posting any more pictures of what I sent her, so I guess I will.

This is Rufus.  He's the father of the family.

This is Maurice, aka MoMo.

These are the twins.

These are the twins' pictures of their mom, since she couldn't go on the trip.

And this is the family pet.  I can't remember what I named him.

46  My Harry Potter Tape Wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by MeganCrafts on: December 06, 2011 05:20:53 AM
My local library had a book and bake sales about a month ago.  I found a bunch of great stuff there, but was super excited to find a box set of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on tape.  I had made one of these wallets for a swap, but really wanted to make one for myself.

I have five more tapes, so I'm thinking the rest of them will be made in house colors.

I received from Malbert a couple days ago, but it's that wonderful time in the semester when all of the big projects for every class are due at the same time.

She sent me this really cute frog monster.  It's no sew, which is super cool.

She also sent two pairs of monster socks.  The colorful ones are knee eyes.  I'm excited to wear them.

Next is this amazing zombie shirt.  I wore it to work today, it fits perfectly.

She sent this awesome monster hat that she made, as well as extra eyes and teeth to add if I want.

And lastly, this super cute monster painting.  I'm going to hang it on the wall above my crafting area.

Thank you so much Meagan.  I love it all.  And I have pictures of the stuff I sent you if you want me to post them.

49  Yeti in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by MeganCrafts on: November 13, 2011 07:26:34 PM
I wanted to share the yeti that I made for the latest Tiny Stuffie Swap.  If you haven't done one of those swaps, I definitely recommend it.  It's become my favorite swap to do.

I was really happy with how the yeti for my partner came out.  I got the pattern from a book called Beasties by Diana Schoenbrun.  It was a super simple pattern to follow.  I kind of fell in love with the yeti and have plans to make one for myself in brighter colors and call it a raver yeti.

I made him a little fleece scarf.  What yeti doesn't need a scarf.

I also made these little fluffy monsters.  They are super simple and take maybe a half hour to sew by hand.

50  Re: Mug Rug Swap R2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by MeganCrafts on: October 31, 2011 03:07:16 PM
I received from Staar84 today.  It was very much worth the wait, I love it.

I had actually gotten a sample of that Dr. Who fabric on Spoonflower's free swatch day so that I could make myself a mug rug out of it.

She also sent a really cute Portal-themed tea wallet.

I have to watch, my boyfriend might steal it.

Thank you so much Staar84.
