1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: French Knots and Button Tree on: March 07, 2011 05:30:19 PM
That is awesome. How long did it take to do all of those knots? I've never done frestyle embroidery before. I always follow an ironed on pattern. I think I could manage your lovely tree though! I have loads of buttons that would work. I like the green butons, I think that pink, white or yellow buttons could look like flowers. That give me the idea of why not embroider a tree for each season.

Thanks for the wonderful inspiration!

I'm not sure how long it took but I watched a whole lot of Avatar: The Last Airbender while doing it haha. After a while you get into a rythem. I've never followed a patern haha!  and those are great ideas!

Pretty!
Are there barrettes behind the flowers?  How did you attach them?

Thanks! Some have barretts on the back and others have some metal clips (from a pack of 100 from Sallys)

I learned how to put together flowers that were meant for hair then thought I could find flowers I liked and turn them into hair accessories.  I got the flowers at the dollar store.
(I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this)
