1  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Gathered Pullover? on: February 01, 2008 01:49:48 PM
Blinded by the cable...LOL!  I've heard that the gathering stops it from being tent~like, and there are folks who made the cable fall just under the bust (what I plan to do if all this stockinette doesn't kill me first!).

What kind of yarn were you using?

Anyone knitting (or thinking about knitting) the Gathered Pullover from the winter 2007 IK?

is amazing!  Their 4play is my favorite.  The colors are gorgeous and the yardage/price is great too.

busymama are you still working on this cardigan?  I know it's almost a year later but I'm knitting up a gauge swatch this morning.

If you've finished your sweater, can you post pics?  What yarn did you use?

I'm using Araucania Nature Wool from my stash.  I have a feeling this sweater may take me awhile since it's pretty much stockinette.

Did you know there's an errata webpage for Yarnplay and Edie is on it?

The back of your sweater looks awesome!

No, I haven't finished it.  I knit the back and it was huge.  I had decided to knit a smaller size to compensate for my larger gauge but something went awry between the shoulder blades and it was off.

So I frogged it and thought about using a different yarn but I REALLY want to use my Brooks Farm Four Play.  I think I'm going to try and go down a needle size or two.

I need to check out the errata.  Maybe that was part of my problem?  LOL!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cotton-Ease is coming back! YAY! on: October 14, 2006 12:29:14 PM
I currently have 6 skeins of this in my stash.  Besides the one linked above, any other ideas for sweaters made of this stuff?  I'd really like to make something for myself with it.

I know people rave about Cotton-Ease, and it's very nice to the touch.  What kind of items look good in it?  What yarns can I use Cotton-Ease as a sub for?  I have never used it.

Cotton-Ease is great for pretty much any pattern calling for a worsted weight.  I like to use it as a sub for wool since where I live is warm a lot of the year.  It's an excellent sub for All Seasons Cotton by Rowan and it cables well.  I just hope the new color line is better/more expansive!

I went to my LYS and got suckered into 5 skeins of baby blue Cotton Fleece.  Now I really can't wait to cast on!

Are you getting gauge with the Cotton Fleece?  I'm debating between Cotton Ease (in the ice blue) and Cotton Plus and I thought the Cotton Plus might be a little to thin?  Of course I haven't swatched yet...
