21  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Johnny Depp in Dead Man on: February 26, 2013 02:24:50 PM
Dead Man  (directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring the fascinating Johnny Depp) is one of my favorite movies so I made myself a tshirt using a freezer paper stencil.  I'm not sure if I captured Johnny's handsome mug quite right but I'm still happy with the image.

This is the movie poster.  http://www.amazon.com/27x40-Johnny-Pointing-Original-Poster/dp/B000XZC83O
22  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Dia de los Muertos charms on: February 20, 2013 11:02:54 PM
I recently whipped up some shrink plastic charms.

Dia de los Muertos skulls, a cute cat, and a Serenity (Firefly class) charm.  I really should have done Serenity in grey and colored the space around in black.  Maybe next time.
23  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Felt Firey on: February 20, 2013 10:51:44 PM
  In gratitude to Jim Henson!

I wanted to join in on the recent Labyrinth swap but had a planned vacation right in the middle of the crafting period so I just couldn't fit it in.  It got me in a Labyrinth frame of mind however and I decided to make something for myself!  The Fireys always both terrified and fascinated me.

I'm pretty new to making felt softies and a horrible sewer to boot but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out.  Of course, his head comes off.

All of his limbs are attached with velcro as well.  Maybe someday I'll make another firey so that they can swap body parts at will!
24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Buffy amulet bag on: April 09, 2012 11:33:10 PM
I was inspired to make a beaded amulet bag for the recent Whedon swap.  My partner loved Buffy so I made a 2 bead peyote graph of the fancy B symbol and the claddagh ring symbol.

I made her a spike pendent (for killing vampires, of course) and a bird's nest pendent like ones she let me know she admired to go into the amulet bag.  It was my first time working with polymer clay or trying a wire bird nest.

I also added those pink and white heart beads.
25  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / beaded scrappy patchwork bracelet on: March 21, 2012 11:08:34 AM
This was for the recent 100 Facts About Me swap.  My partner liked scrappy patchwork and beads.

It was inspired by a bracelet I had made for myself a while ago (which was inspired by a project from a bead magazine that I can no longer find!  Tongue).

26  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 66 ENTRIES / nature journal on: September 08, 2011 10:35:31 AM
Every August I go on a solo camping trip in Northern Vermont.  This year I made myself a nature-inspired journal for future travels.

a few pages:

I bound it using "secret Belgium binding" instructions that I found online here:  http://www.tjbookarts.com/otherlinks.htm
Someday I'll learn to take decent photos.   Smiley
27  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / flock of roses pendents on: May 08, 2011 05:11:57 PM
I made these over the weekend while watching TV.  Just some tiny paper roses, scraps of paper from an old french book and odds and ends glued into pendent frames and varnished.  I think they're kind of sweet.

29  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Star Wars bracelet on: April 09, 2011 09:23:03 PM
Too late for the challenge but I couldn't have entered it anyway.  It was conceived  a while ago for a friend (even if it did take a while to finish!   Grin)
Done with square stitch.
30  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / perpetual calendar (scruffy version) on: March 30, 2011 03:32:16 PM
I really like the concept of a perpetual calendar and love the many examples I've seen on here!
Mine is definitely less polished than others but that's the way I like it. Grin
a few detail shots

The individual days are really easy to change according to what day of the week they fall on and I'm planning on making some holiday-themed ones.
