7  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: any ideas on how to fix ballet flats? on: July 18, 2009 08:15:41 AM
my first thought was to actually cut a V notch into the sides out side or insides to give you more room.
You could add a bit of recycled leather or suede with glue to them.  I would recommend gluing to the outside of them so that the glue doesn't irritate the foot anymore than what is already happening.  Hope this helps a bit
8  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Murder Heels. Clogs. And Scary Boots. on: July 18, 2009 08:00:37 AM
I can't help with the boots but if your killer white shoes are fabric I would bead them. They are a classic design that I don't think would disappear any time soon.

Likewise if they are leather then I would paint them. Lot's of threads here on painting shoes.

As for you big boots and clogs perhaps cutting a shape into the heal and sole would look very cool. I am trying to imagine how to cute shapes into them, but I'm not really sure. Maybe an old soldering iron would work. But I think do it outside because it might smell when burning the rubber.

The clogs could be updated with more paint and perhaps cutting shapes out of the top and sides of the upper shoe part. maybe a sun moon and stars might work.
Or trace a cookie cutter onto them and then cut that out.
You could perhaps glue a little bit of soft fabric inside so the colour shows through the cut portions.

Well I don't know if this is a help to you or not. But it might be enough to help you get started.
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Centerpiece Advice/Feedback Please on: May 09, 2009 10:21:36 PM
My first thought when I saw your plate was to stack it on top of three inverted glasses for height.
You can go to any dollar store and buy those glow in the dark necklaces. I would put that around your plate and another inverted glass. On top of this glass I would put a clear sandwich or salad size plate. Then add flowers from your garden on this one.
You could also add another ring to this plate as well.
I know you can get battery powered lights if electricity would be a problem.
So they might also be an alternative.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Friendly Plastic on: February 10, 2009 09:34:12 PM
Silky Chicken sorry to hear you didn't win but you are right there is another year and that means a whole year to practice, craft and hone your work into a winner! I still think they should have won though.
