the bears are great - they look really well made.

i think it's a great idea to use the clothing of someone who has passed away to create awesome things out of.

your stuffies look great! i would never have known that you were a beginning sewer. i made the pointy kitty. i needed some tutoring for the darts and gussets - which were totally new to me. great job all around. don't you just love wee wonderfuls? i'm working on some wee wonderfuls bunnies right this minute!
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Re: gallery etiquette for lousy swap item? on: October 28, 2006 09:31:11 AM

I would rather someone create something that they love doing or are really good at (or both) than to strangle their creativity by being so specific that they have no room to move.

well put
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Projects from "One Skein" on: August 03, 2006 11:25:14 PM
help! i'm working on a project from the One Skein book and i'm stuck. it's the stash bag on pg 102. i can't figure out the instructions for the pleats. here's what the pattern says,

"K3, [sl 3 sts onto dpn adn hold in front of work, knit these 3 sts tog with the next 3 sts on needle]"

so, once i've knit the 3 sts and then slipped 3 onto the dpn - what am i doing? which needles am i supposed to be knitting with at this point? i'm so confused. am i knitting with the dpn or behind it with the circulars,  or ahhhhh. i so want to finish this bag this weekend. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!!!

watching a teenage babysitter lay on the bed and zip-up her Jordache jeans with pliers

oh man, i forgot about that. i didn't use pliers though, i used a coat hanger. the joke was, "hey, i see you've got a 1980 dime in your back pocket." i can't believe that i wore such tight pants - although i was much thinner then of course. now, if it ain't got 'stretch' in it, it ain't for me.

class of 81 (god, how did I get so old?)

how indeed...i'm 42! 42!!! i know that's not that old, but dang, it's still weird for me. i had to say my age out loud the other day and it just sounded so odd. how can i be 42 when i'm still just a goofy teenager in my head? oh well, 42 really isn't old, it's just older than i used to be, but younger than i'm gonna be...yeah, um, the 80's were a little hard on my brain cells...
