what a great idea!  you did a really good job too. your little guy is adorable. and what a lucky find on the rocking horse - sometimes we're just in the right place at the right time.

that's friggin awesome!! i have those same socks and it never occurred to me to turn the toes sideways on top of the head. you have inspired me and, for that, i thank you. btw, it's a great monkey and it's unbelievable that it's your first sock monkey. well done.

nice. i think he might be just a little too cute to scare anybody though - even a kid  Wink

did you use a sock or regular fabric? i make sock monkeys and i've been pining about making a sock monkey puppet.

i do small craft projects at work sometimes and every now and then people will offer to pay me to make something. like you, i usually jump in to quick with a "oh, i'd love to make it for you - you don't have to pay me". usually because it's been something i've been thinking of making or because the challenge of it will help me with a new technique or something like that...

super cute. love, love, love the hoodie.

as a side note on giving monkeys...i think it must be an unwritten rule that we who make the monkey are the only ones who can repair the monkey. ever! not that i mind - but i've given them to friends with kids and dogs and, well, they do get 'used'. my friend brought me a ziploc bag with pieces of monkey in it - limbs, eyes, tail, all the stuffing she could gather along with many pieces of thread. it would've been easier to make a new monkey - but she wanted her monkey. ah, such is the life as a monkey maker....
