2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Punch Needle on: January 31, 2008 11:02:13 AM
coincidentally, i just pulled my old kit out of the closet last night. i believe the most common brand name is Purr-Fect Punch. i just started looking it up this morning and i found that you will come up with more hits if you search for 'Punch Embroidery' or 'Punch Needle Embroidery'. here are some of the links that look pretty good...

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: any punch embroiderers around? on: January 31, 2008 10:53:13 AM
hello and welcome to Craftster!!! i did punch embroidery years ago - in the early 90's. then i put it away for some reason  Huh - something shinier must've caught my eye. then, as i was going to sleep last night i remembered my Purr-fect Punch kit. i got up to see if i still had it and i did!!! i just started doing it again today and i'm remembering how much i enjoy it. like you, i thought i'd check Craftster to see if anyone is doing it and here i am, talking to you!  Cheesy

what are you working on? or are you just playing right now. i'm still in the playing around stage - remembering how to do this and that. what fun to rediscover something that i really like and i already have it!! nothing to buy...yet.

I think it would be great if they used happy plushies to teach about periods in sex ed! Maybe that would get rid of some of the embarrassment about our periods that we seem to be taught in school. We can all think about that time of the month as a happy singing time, not a shameful, dirty time!
[/quote]

that's a really good idea. if you  somehow marketed a little 'happy period' type kit - i bet it would do well. if i was a mother explaining it to my daughter that would be really cool to have. it would make it seem like a happy thing rather than a horrible, ooky thing.
