11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / felt flower brooch w/ pyramid stud on: November 28, 2005 07:47:18 PM
i made this felt flower pin for my coat using a great tutorial i saw on this board a while ago, and used a pyramid stud for the center.  well, it's actually off-center, which i'm not that thrilled about...

it's pretty small, i used 2x2 inch felt squares for the petals.  sorry about the quality, i took it with my camera phone at work...

i'd love to know what you think!
12  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / crazy soap molds on: October 20, 2005 06:46:41 PM
i've never made soaps before but i'm interested, and i was wondering...has anyone come across and molds (i hope that's what they're called) for soaps that are, for lack of a better term, edgy?  kind of horror related, like guns, skulls, etc?  or even if they're not in that category, i'd love to see some sites that you think have particularly cool molds.

14  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / soy candles? on: October 15, 2005 12:37:07 PM
does anyone know of a good kit, or recipe, or whatever for making soy candles?  i found one at my local craft store but it was only for vanilla scented candles and pretty limited colors, and i'd like to have a little more leeway with scents.
15  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / dare i go shorter? on: October 12, 2005 08:16:33 PM
so i recently got my collarbone-length hair cut to be just a little more than chin-length, with the front slightly longer than the back.  i'm already dying to change it somehow!  i used to be addicted to hair dye so i'm gonna lay off that for a while, and i'm thinking of doing something shorter and more interesting...does anyone have any suggestions?  the only thing i'm opposed to is anything super trendy and probably back combed.  just not my cup of tea right now.  otherwise, i'd really love to hear your opinions!

sorry i look sort of come-hither, i sent this to my boyfriend...but it shows my hair pretty well

and i don't look so stellar in this one but it does show my face shape

thanks so much for looking!
16  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / gifts that ROCK?! (you'll get that it's a pun if you read on) on: October 12, 2005 05:45:05 PM
my boyfriend is on tour right now for a few months, then he's coming back for a bit, then heading out again.  which is super hard, by the way.  but anyway i'd like to make him a few things to give him when he gets home that he can take back out on the road with him, do you guys have any ideas?  it can't be anything large because the van is pretty tight already...so far, i'm thinking a small pillow, and then...brain freeze.  i'm open to any suggestions at all!  thanks!
17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / making your own patterns on: October 06, 2005 09:58:57 PM
or maybe i didn't phrase that right, i mean printing them out from the computer.  what sites are good, and how do you actually do this?  could someone tell me what paper you print it on, how you transfer it to the fabric, and anything else a beginner should know?  thanks so much!
18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / resized and spruced up band shirt on: August 12, 2005 04:09:30 PM
this is my best friend's band's shirt, but it was huge and non-shapely, so i decided to switch it up a bit:

the blacks don't quite match, but it's a lot less noticeable in person.  criticism is welcome!
19  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / super-simple bracelets and necklace on: August 12, 2005 04:06:21 PM
i've also made a whole bunch of single-strand seed bead bracelets that i wear all together, but i don't really think they're worth showing.  not that these are so breathtaking, but whatever.

double-strand blue beaded bracelet

double-strand green beaded bracelet

extra-long red beaded necklace with blue and green accents

thanks for looking!  criticism is welcome
20  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / embroidered pillow case - sweet guitars and dirty words ahead on: August 12, 2005 03:27:19 PM
this was the first thing i ever embroidered, it was a birthday gift.  i used patterns from sublime stitching to make it.  criticism is welcome!
