1  Re: Fall Dia De Los Muertos Swap Gallery: S/O EXTENDED!! Send out by 11/26 in The Swap Gallery by RetroGypsy on: December 05, 2012 11:40:54 AM
Are you ready for some more Fall Dia de los Muertos Swappy goodness?!?!  Here we go..

I received my package from Pixie and it's full of great handmade goodies!

Let's begin with a group shot that includes a handpainted canvas of a muerto kitty, a handpainted cross shaped box that had a pair of pretty pretty earrings with little calaveras (skulls), a handpainted calavera and a beautiful black scarf...

Close up of the calavera and the back...

The earrings...

And a close up of the scarf...please take note of the beautiful pattern...looks like papel picado to me! Wish I could knit!

Muchos Gracias por todo Pixie!!!  I love everything and cannot wait to rock the earrings and scarf!  I am headed to the Bay Area Monday where it is raining and a bit chilly so the scarf is definitely being packed up and taken along for the trip. Cheesy

Speaking of Miss Alliekat914...I am most pleased to add the awesome 8"  :Dhoop she made for me to our collection! She made me a hoop based on Dr. Who..my fave...#10 and one of his funny Dr. Who-isms! I love the stitching Alliekat914!  They are the most perfect little bitty x's making up my fave guy and the Tardis! Thank you so much...this deserves a very prominent spot on my wall  Grin I did have intentions to take pictures of this beauty outside this morning, but was hijacked all day to go out fishing with the Mr.

The awesomeness...

Thank you! Gracias! Obrigado! Danke!

8  First Swap for a crafster newbie - A wee bit pic heavy in Needlework: Completed Projects by RetroGypsy on: July 13, 2012 10:17:11 AM
I saw a post by likls, who is fairly new to crafster, with her very first hoop not too long ago. She is too young to officially join in on the hoopla swap fun so I asked if she would be interested in a personal swap with my fella's daughter, new crafster lola, and myself.  likls agreed to the swap so we swapped lists and went to town.  Everyone has received their hoops so it is safe to post. I've been a little late to post pics because we are in the middle of a big move from Las Vegas to Texas..wish us luck!

I created a hoop with a combo theme of her love for OKGO and nail polish...

lola went with a combo of OKGO colors and ugly sweater theme...

I dig how she used sequence..cool look and new twist.

We received these coolio hoops from likls...
a cow theme for lola...

a Dr. Who bowtie theme for me

Thank you for the swap likls!!! We were happy to be part of your first swap here on crafster!  Cheesy

9  My Teenager's stitching and an Jose Pulido Star Wars thank you in Needlework: Completed Projects by RetroGypsy on: June 21, 2012 08:52:45 AM
Okie dokie...so I've posted about my fella's daughter wanting to participate in swaps and I've been doing personal swaps with her.  Dewshinesdopp was generous enough to volunteer for a personal swap and we set things in motion for the swap.  All has been sent and received so it is safe to post  Grin

Little Miss just turned 14 and I've been teaching her different crafts for some time.  From the list Dewshinesdopp provided for the swap she chose to stitch up a Fineas & Ferb hoop...

She painted the fabric and used backstitch & satin stitch, painted the hoop and finished up the back of the hoop with some felt and cute Thank you in sequence.  I just happen to think she did an excellent job.

As an extra little thank you we did some pinterest stalking of Dewshinesdopp and I stitched something up for her as well.  I must say that I have wanted to stich up a Jose Pulido Star Wars Day of the Dead design for a looooooong time, so this was great for me  Wink

I used backstitch, a little satin stich and split stitch.

I bought some more of the "spacey" fabric and plan to stitch up more Jose Pulido's and frame them for my nephew.

Thank you so much Dewshinesdopp!!!  I will post a pic of the hoop you so kindly stitched up for the swap asap...it happens to be on another memory card, which of course is at home right now.

10  Onesies for my Godchild in Needlework: Completed Projects by RetroGypsy on: May 16, 2012 03:12:09 PM
Hey ya'll! I stitched up these onesies for my Cousin who moved to Baltimore from California.  She is removed from all the family because of the move so I decided to have a virtual babyshower for her....I made some cute invitations and stitched that cute little cherry pie for each one (about 20), and made magnets of them as a favor. With the invitation, I also sent everyone onesies and/or bibs for them to decorate and send to her for the new "Sweetie Pie".

And because my Cousin has a major love for Elvis...

C&C Welcome!  Thank you for looking Cheesy
