1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: 50 Projects 2014--Let's continue the craftiness! on: January 12, 2014 05:55:28 AM
All these projects are making me jealous, so i'm joining in on the fun too Smiley
I normally only do small things so hopefully this will make me do a few bigger things, and actually finish more of them! I'm also terrible at posting finished projects on Craftster, so let's hope this helps with that too.

My list so far:
Bold is a WIP, strikethrough is finished.
1. Rug
2. January Hoop - Cherry Blossom
3. Boat Cross Stitch
4. Needle Boook
5. Earring Book
6-16. Make a Hoop Every Month
17. Dress from Granny's Liberty Fabric
18. Latin Practice Skirt
19. Art Journal
20. Baby Clothes for J.S.
21.
22.

Hopefully now I've got around to posting in here I'll stop spend less time procrastinating in this thread  Grin
2  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / A Midsummer Night's Dream - Pic Uber Heavy on: June 08, 2013 08:26:12 AM
This project is actually from last summer, but I kept forgetting to share it... But anyway, exams are over so I have no excuse!

Last Summer at my school we put on a performance of a Midsummer Night's Dream, with costumes designed by me and made with the help of a small group of other students (and my mum). It was my last year at school after several years of being the head of costume, so I wanted to go as all out as possible, and after hearing what we were putting on had wheels turning in my head for months about what things were going to look like.

Anyway, onto the pictures:

This is the final sketch for what Titania's dress and wings would look like, although as we started making things obviously got changed:

Titania and Oberon's finished outfits:

You can't see very well from this photo, but her skirt is in three layers like I planned Smiley

Puck and Bottom:

I got inspiration for puck being a satyr from this http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=310717.0#axzz2VdWYMRbz, but since Puck was being played by two very differently sized people decided that the easiest thing to do would be bandage straight onto the legs

Smaller Fairies, as well as Moth, Cobweb, Mustardseed and Peaseblossom we had 3 extra fairies (pink, blue and green):

Now the wings, these were my favourite parts of the costumes, made from coathangers covered in tights and painted. I hand bent every set of wings, the team of us painted them. We let the people playing Titania and Oberon keep their wings after the show (when I told Titania she nearly cried... I think that's a good thing?)
All of the wings together:

Titania's (my personal favourites):

Cobweb's:

Before every performance we also doused these ones in fine glitter

The Blue Fairy's:

Thanks for taking the time to look, I hope you liked them Smiley
3  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Gooey deep-dish choc chip cookie bakes on: February 09, 2012 07:04:09 AM
They look so good! I'll have to try them at some point Smiley
4  COOKING / Dessert / Teapot and Teacup Cakes on: February 09, 2012 07:03:23 AM
This is a group effort by myself and two close friends, as a birthday present for another friend (who is a great lover of tea). All the cakes are plain sponges and the smaller cakes were baked in the teacups
Here are the teacups and the teapot (with handle or spout):

And here is the completed teapot:

We were pleased with how they turned out, and those who ate them seemed to like them too Smiley
5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Nuts for Nautical (Signup thru August 1; sendouts August 20) on: July 30, 2011 01:29:00 PM
This is one I'd have loved to do, but ironically I'm going to be spending what would be the crafting time sailing... Smiley
6  COOKING / Dessert / I like turtles :) on: July 26, 2011 01:42:39 PM
My best friend loves turtles and it was her birthday last week so of course the obvious thing to do was make turtle cakes. I'm quite pleased with how they came out:

They were cute AND delicious! Smiley
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Decked Out for Deathly Hallows Part II GALLERY! on: July 06, 2011 02:45:02 PM
I received alst friday but have only just got round to putting the photos up (it's prodcution week at school Smiley)
So here's what I reveived from mpemporium:
I said I wanted a Pygmy Puff, and here he is! I named him Eugene (school play = Grease and Eugene is my favourite character):

Also a beautifully carved Neville's wand - I wish I had those skills!:

My wearable is a (shiiiny) Ravenclaw Quidditch supporters shirt:

And last but not least for foodsies I got Cockroach clusters, ice mice and fizzing whizzbees (they're very nice and it seems unlikely they'll last another week...):

Thanks for being such a good partner mpemporium, and I hope you enjoy your parcel as much as I like mine! Smiley
8  COOKING / Dessert / Re: HELP! Cake decorating on: June 09, 2011 08:31:56 AM
Ebay? I had a quick google and found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Squires-Kitchen-Purple-Paste-Food-Colouring_W0QQitemZ260795536449QQcmdZViewItem
Squires is the purple food colouring that we have and it's quite good Smiley
9  COOKING / Dessert / There's Antimony, Arsenic, Aluminium, Selenium (Periodic Table Cake) on: June 09, 2011 08:12:25 AM
So it was one of my friend's Birthday on Sunday, and for her party myself and another friend decided to make her a cake. And having seen one (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=373403.0) a while ago, I decided that a periodic table cake was what we would make. And so it came to be:

C&C appreciated Smiley
