11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Tardis Tshirt! on: March 17, 2011 04:52:14 PM
After seeing some amazing freezer stencil shirts, I wanted to try my hand at bleach stencils. That failed horribly, so I busted out my acrylic paints and stenciled that way.

This is my first try, and I have to say it turned out pretty awesome. There's an outline around the tardis that I tried to fix, but no luck. Eh, what can you do?

I've done two other projects since then, both Doctor Who inspired I might add, and maybe I'll post those later.

12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Bleach Stenciling; I need some SERIOUS help! on: March 16, 2011 08:36:09 PM
i tried my first bleach stenciling project today...and nothing happened.

I used 50% bleach and 50% water to avoid erosion because of the bleach, and nothing happened. not even a slight discoloration. so i used a higher concentration until i used just bleach.

the shirt has been sitting here for 30 minutes, is dry, smells like bleach, but the fabric looks exactly the same. i have no idea what i did wrong. the shirt is dark blue and i expected color change right away, but nada.

bleach users, did i completely screw up this steciling project? am i as stupid as i feel? should i just forgo the bleach and do an acrylic stencil? gahhh, HELP!
