1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Strawberry hat and bib on: May 24, 2007 01:25:32 PM
I made these for my friend's 5 month old daughter.

I vaguely followed the hat pattern here.

Modeled by my light-bulb lamp

Bib. I used the basic instructions from mason-dixon knitting and added some strawberry details, like a knitted strawberry applique and cute strawberry buttons, to make it match the hat.

2  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Finished "To Dye For" on: October 30, 2006 01:28:20 PM
I didn't dye my yarn. I used knit picks suri dream hand dyed instead. I changed the increases for the bell sleeve, but probably should have left them as written. Mine are a little wonky. After the fact, I crocheted two vertical "darts" under the bust so that it wouldn't look quite so much like a maternity top. It was a quick knit and I like the yarn, although I did have to fix quite a few dropped stitches. I apparently missed the loop a few times and just knit into the fuzzy halo of the yarn. Doh! If I make this pattern again, I'll leave the sleeves alone, and I'll add some waist shaping.

5  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Short 'n sweet on: June 19, 2006 07:12:11 AM
Hooray I finished! I feel like a real hooker now. I think I can finally quit saying I'm a knitter who is trying to learn to crochet. Now I feel I can proudly say I go both ways. This was a challenge, but once I got going it was no problem. And for anyone bi-yarn crafty and interested the tank pattern is a free knitting pattern that can be found here.
We've got a knit a long going too.

Oh yeah, I used brown sheep's cotton fleece in plum patina.
6  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Thrifty Knitter Tank on: June 15, 2006 08:58:45 AM
Here's the patten.

And here's the thread about a gauge question for this tank which inspired a few of us to knit this super cute tank along with Rachelo.

Anybody else want to join us? Rachelo is doing some tricky math to get gauge, and I'm going to be subbing the yarn so let's see how this experiment goes. Come on you know you want to. Everyone needs a cute cotton tank for the summer!
7  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Green Knot Ugly Shrug on: June 11, 2006 04:19:05 PM

The yarn was given to me by another craftster, awgoodkitty. This is only my 3rd or 4th crochet project ever, and my second from the book. I made it in two days. I cannot get over how much faster crochet is than knitting. There are a few more pictures on my blog. I really reccomend this one for beginners and for curvier gals. I wasn't sure how this was going to look on me, but I love it. I will be making more of these.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / First clothing post- Linen shirt on: May 28, 2006 05:54:29 PM
Hi everyone. I spend most of my time over on the knitting board, but I recently got a functioning sewing machine after many, many years. My first project was a top from simplicity pattern 4823. I used some embroidered linen fabric. I left off the back ties because I didn't like them, and haven't done the arm hole facing because I'm lazy.

There's a few other pics of it on my blog if anyone's interested.
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Recycled Jeans Quilt on: May 21, 2006 06:20:14 PM
This in no way compairs to the amazing work of you quilters on here, but I wanted to share this blanket that I finally finished. I started it years ago-about 6 years ago, if not more. I was using my mom's sewing machine. It died. I moved across the country, and didn't have access to a sewing machine. I tried doing some by hand, but that didn't go so well, so there the blanket sat until today. I got a sewing machine from a friend who was selling it our yard sale, and I was able to finally finish this thing.   Cheesy

The blanket- It's denim squares with a fleece back.

Some of the crazy denim squares

And my sewing machine! I'm so excited to finally get into sewing again! It's an old singer in a cute little sewing table.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Felted clutch from one skein on: April 10, 2006 08:03:50 PM
I knit this start to finish today while home sick. It's "the clutch you'll never give up" from Leigh Radford's book One Skein.
