1  Vintage evening dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by butter_fly on: November 27, 2013 04:01:57 PM
Hi!
That's the dress I made Smiley

I chose  vintage Simplicity 8498 pattern as a base pattern for making  this dress
Yes, I tried to recreate a vintage Vogue Couturier 2112 Belinda Belville using another vintage pattern of the same era! Weird, I know Smiley

I was very excited to try a vintage pattern for the first time, but I'm afraid it was a bit of nightmare Sad

I'm very glad that I made a muslin! I spent 3 days fiddling with it, and in the end there was no line or curve of the pattern that had been left unchanged!

It's a shame as it's my first time of using vintage pattern, and this painful experience kind of put me off vintage patterns..

More photos and ramblings on my blog, where I am currently hosting a sewing related giveaway!

2  Rustic Christmas wreath hanger in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by butter_fly on: December 18, 2012 12:03:42 PM
The idea of this rustic Christmas wreath hanger came to me first a couple of years ago, when a few days before Christmas being  in a need for a wreath hanger, I suddenly realised that they had been already sold out

I liked this wreath hanger so much, that I make one each Christmas.. (The wreath itself and an owl are not handmade I bought them.)

Simple, cheap and I love that rustic look! Smiley

3  Birds dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by butter_fly on: June 25, 2011 03:55:59 PM
I bought this remnant of a curtain vintage fabric with birds a while ago.. I didn't know what to do with it, but finally decided on a dress..
I used Burda pattern.. And it was my first try of using an invisible zip, I'm rather pleased with the result Smiley

4  Reupholstered chairs + a doorstop :) in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by butter_fly on: April 07, 2011 03:23:53 PM
Just finished this little project: the old fabric on the dining chairs was quite dirty and tattered..

I bought it all together: PVC coated fabric for a tablecloth, polka dot one for chairs and a mug.. so they all match Smiley
I also made a fun door stop from the same fabric:

I'm very pleased with it Smiley

5  Yet another tree :) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by butter_fly on: March 10, 2011 05:31:03 PM
Ok, my project is far from being as challenging and "crafty" as others.. (I absolutely love all the versions of mycoloringworld tree, but autumn tree is my favourite , I just love autumn Smiley)
We can't paint the walls in the house as we rent it, so I just used a wall sticker bought on line.. I just wanted to show how beautifully it looks on my wall and wardrobe:

6  Sofa cover in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by butter_fly on: March 10, 2011 05:07:04 PM

I really needed to do something with this sofa; it's old, the colour doesn't go with the rest of the room and there is a big uncleanable spot on it..
I decided to make a removable cover for it rather then reupholstering so I can wash it sometimes..
This is before:

And after:

Close up of the fabric;

7  Re: My first knitting project... in years! in Knitting: Completed Projects by butter_fly on: February 28, 2011 04:21:34 AM

Thank you for your nice comments. I had been on and off on it  (more off than on Smiley )  for over a year!
As for the colours, it's colours of their regiment: (british household cavalry)

8  My first knitting project... in years! in Knitting: Completed Projects by butter_fly on: February 27, 2011 05:49:06 PM
Hi! It's my first post here..
I hadn't been knitting for a few years until recently, had a very hectic time. This jumper was a request from my husband, he had chosen colours himself. I was sceptical first about the  colours, but now think it went pretty well.
This is the result, hope to knit more soon (I also made a jumper and a scarf for a teddy but don't think it counts Smiley )
