Finally getting over a really bad cold!! (first time I've been sick in ages) Have been busy editing classes and other things. Hope to get back into the swing of things now that this cold is going!

Thank you!!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

It was quite festive around Christmas when I was wearing three with bell feet!! I sounded very jolly!! LOL!!! =^..^=
These are also very nice sounding jingle bells - not like the typical ones I find in craft stores.

I like them when they are both smiling too!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Forgot to put a face on the last fish. Did that yesterday, but haven't photographed it yet.

Currently de-cluttering my work table so that I can do some video taping. It always amazes me how much ends up on my work table when I do a bunch of small projects like the dog and cat brooches! But to be fair - I've got written notes on my table from last spring about some other project ideas. It can be very hard to organize all this stuff!!

=^..^=

Thanks thanks!!! =^..^=

Tuxedo Cat - constructed slightly differently from the first one, but obviously making use of the same basic pattern.

Thank you!! =^..^=  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Some interesting observations about brooches and how jewelry goes in and out of style. Brooches are a good choice for fiber jewelry because contact with human skin oils is at a minimum.

Thank you for the compliments AND the comments about brooches!! =^..^=  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I like brooches - for one thing they stay in their place! LOL!! For a while in December I was wearing a couple of the dog brooches at a time - partially because I liked them and partially to see how they wore (pretty well - with a bit of an edge to the wet felted versions).

awwww Thanks!!! =^..^=

I'm pleased with the results and will be doing some more - different types of kitties and I'd like to do more to the fish. I almost used embroidery floss to do scales, but the shine of the floss when I did one of the fins was distracting. I removed that and just left the eye and mouth.

I was going to wet felt this brooch too as I have with some (most) of the dog brooches, but I couldn't bring myself to do it!! LOL!! I did needle felt the heck out of it to secure the fibers really well. Next one will get wet felted too - just adds to the durability of the piece.

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

P.S. Who wears brooches these days??
When I look over the jewelry being offered where I do my classes, there's always a lot of necklaces, bracelets and earrings. There are brooches now and then, but I'm getting the impression that it's a less popular form of jewelry now than at other times. What do you think???

A friend of mine is putting together a polymer clay class with the cutest cat brooches - that inspired me to make this one. I haven't achieved her level of "cuteness" yet, but for my first one I'm also a happy cat!!! =^..^=

Neat project!!  Cheesy Cheesy

Fiber Fill (polyester and such) doesn't really felt - it tangles. A lot of needle felting is about tangling, but felting occurs when working with natural fibers that have scales.

If you had used wool fiber inside the balls they probably would have been easier to shape as desired. Typically I use wool batting (as prepared for use in comforters and quilts) as "core fiber". =^..^=
