2  Another Bunny in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: February 15, 2015 10:50:04 AM

Different color for the fur which I like. I used a different color for the iris which I think helps to bring out the eyes better. Armature limited to only the forelegs which makes it easier to work on the whole piece. Will probably do another experiment and focus on adding more details to the paws and such.

Bitterly cold here today. My craftroom is probably about 52 degrees.

3  Bunny in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: February 13, 2015 03:18:33 PM

I've been really busy and not able to keep up around here. Hope I will have a little more time. Currently in the middle of working on some possible class ideas. For this piece I used a partial armature - larger than I like to use - well, I'm not fond of armatures unless they cannot be avoided. Tomorrow I hope to do another bunny and limit the armature to just the forelegs and see how that fares.

I think this guy is about 6" tall, but I never did measure him. Was just happy that I managed to finish him today although my eyes are not happy that I was working that long! Wink

4  Wet Felted Bead experiments in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: December 27, 2014 09:53:17 AM
I'm supposed to be clearing off my craft table for a totally different project, but got involved in doing these instead

The last one pictured was the first one I made. The multi-strand necklace I just finished this morning. Has been very interesting work!! I hope to follow up and do some more experiments after I finish up the next project on my list (when I manage to get my craft table cleared off!!).

Already made the wet felted beads for a mossy green version of the multi-strand necklace - just have to find beads that match. I so wish there was a good bead store near by!!

6  Lucky - Cat Portrait in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: December 14, 2014 11:49:47 AM

Portrait of a cat that lives in Spain. He was rescued by some very wonderful people. He does have a bald spot and scar on the right side of his face - he's a lucky cat indeed!!

He's about 8.5" tall. Took a long time to get him done, but I'm pleased!! =^..^=

7  Snowman - needle felt in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: November 19, 2014 02:04:33 PM

Been busy with a lot of different things (including helping a new furkid adjust to our home). We're getting our first real snow of the year so I decided to make a snowman in the warmth of my craft room! =^..^=

8  Orange Yellow Black Needle Felted Necklace in Felting: Completed Projects by Harlan on: October 08, 2014 08:56:37 AM
This is actually the second variation on this style of necklace. My first version was in greens - just nice by subtle color variations and no embroidery. For this one I decided to try some bolder colors and some simple patterns with embroidery floss. I had to go looking for beads since I didn't have anything that really worked. I was glad to find the black, glossy beads. They offer a great texture contrast with the fiber.

I still haven't decided if I should call these shapes "petals" or "leaves" or what - maybe you can help me decide?
