My son's friend asked me to make a hedgehog for him to give to his girlfriend for Christmas.
I think she will be pleased!! =^..^=
I did, out of curiousity, go looking for "hedgehog mohair" since that fabric really does a great job of looking like hedgehog spines, but it is next to impossible to find in the States. Some day I will get some and do a more realistic hedgehog and see how that turns out.
Sorry to not have been around much of late. We've had some life altering losses in our family recently.
I made this cuff in September. Loosely inspired by Book of the Kells. I love celtic knots! I'm working on a celtic knot deer, but that will have to wait until I finish the preparations for the workshop I'm teaching in November.
Another cuff experiment. I think the octopus is more effective perhaps because the head can be positioned in the center of the design. I ended up using snaps for the closure on this piece and I also ended up adding some more black seed beads on the black stripes at the end of the tail.
Prototype for a workshop I will be teaching in November. I'm very pleased with how this came out. I want to do some variations. When I get a chance I also want to look for beads that might be used for the tentacle suckers. Octopi can do some amazing colors and patterns so there are lots of possibilities!! =^..^=
