2  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Sushi Dog Costume (now w/link to photo) on: June 17, 2005 12:07:49 PM
I saw a photo recently of a pug in an awesome sushi costume.  It wasn't my photo so I don't have permission to post it, but I'll describe it so that, if anyone's interested, they can try to replicate it.  Actually, it looked pretty easy.  Basically, all they did was take fabric that looked like dried seaweed and made an loop that wrapped lengthwise around the dog, from chest to "pugbutt."  Then, they added a piece that went over the dog's back.  To the "dried seaweed," they attached small, air-filled round orange balloons.  The balloons looked like they were "filling" the seaweed loop.  Specifically, the costume was a salmon-roe roll.

Hope that gives someone an idea Wink
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Fabric pens on baby clothes on: June 06, 2005 06:12:34 AM
I'm going to be making some onesies for some friends' babies.  On the ones I don't embroider, I thought I might use the fabric pens that I saw at JoAnn's.  Does anyone know if the dye in fabric pens would be safe on baby clothes?

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Needing advice on embroidering onesie on: June 03, 2005 08:47:35 AM
Hi all!

I've looked around for a tutorial on hand-embroidering a onesie, but to little avail.  Anyway, can someone give me some pointers on embroidering a onesie?  This will be the first time I try.  For example, what special steps does one need to take to embroider on knit?  How many strands of floss/thread should one use?  Are some types of stitches better than others on knit?  Here's a basic questions: how should I anchor the floss?  Any other tips? Huh

Thanks!! Smiley

What are some of the cool things you all have seen done with Magic Medium (a search for "magic medium" brings up nothing).  I'm lookin' for ideas Grin
