1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Making cross stitch patterns to sell on: February 16, 2011 08:35:41 AM
Hi everyone. I'm new here (posting, that is... been reading for a while).

I wanted to ask for some advice. Do any of you make cross stitch patterns to sell on your website/Etsy/Ebay? I've made a couple of my own little designs, and after buying some neat patterns from Etsy sellers, I thought, well, maybe I could do this too as a little hobby-business.

But here's where I need some advice. The designs I've made have all been done on graph paper with pencil, which I can barely read myself, let alone try to sell. I've looked at some cross stitch software, but I don't even know where to begin really. If any of you sell your patterns online, what do you use to create your patterns, assuming you sell them as .pdf files?

I'm under no delusions that I will make heaps of money with these patterns, but I might make enough to cover cost of new supplies so I can keep on stitching.

Thanks for any help you might be able to offer. Smiley
