1  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Is it possible to felt animals with spun wool? on: March 13, 2013 08:44:07 AM
Thanks for the tips, Harlan! I've tried unspinning the wool, now just doing some experiments to see if I can actually make anything out of it. ^^ I just really like the colours in the yarn, and they've been sitting in my cupboard for so long I thought I could try doing something with them.

Hey everyone! Felting newbie here. Smiley Just wanted to ask, is it at all possible to felt animal figures out of wool that's already been spun? The wool in question is a Rowan brand, 100% merino wool. Pictures attached below.

Oh hey, those are some great suggestions, thanks so much! I would never have thought about using those materials for a skirt. Smiley

Hi all! I've been lurking on the forums for a while and have just come out of the woodwork. I plan on getting more crafty this year (although I say that every year and never really do...), I'd like to get started on making a sheer skirt for myself!

I really like this skirt I saw on ASOS, but as it's recently sold out I thought I'd try to reconstruct a similar one. It looks like this:

http://www.asos.com/countryid/1/Asos/Asos-Revive-Sheer-Embroidered-Midi-Skirt/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1281004&MID=35718&affid=2134&siteID=kCW4Opi.XCE-z9CGvh779cBZfeiJIGSInw

I've uploaded pictures here in case the link doesn't work:

Now being a total noob, how would I go about making a skirt like this? I think the embroidery might be a little too complicated for my skills, I have no idea how to do something like that on this skirt! If someone could give me a brief rundown of what steps were taken to create something like this would be immensely helpful.

Thanks so much in advance! Smiley
