Super cute design!!
Well since they do open up a bit, perhaps you can add some color to the insides? Like Black, dark-red, red, pink and more. That way you dont need to change the the design, if thats not what you want  Tongue
Thought it might not be enough to tell them apart :/

Really like the painting!
I would love to see the girl and the lizzard in a painting with water. When i first saw them i thought of a scene where they sat on stone and the shore was behind her back. Also I think it looks like the lizard is longing for something.
