That is AWESOME!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: First try at glitter ornaments on: March 02, 2015 04:58:17 PM
I'd be happy to write a tutorial - I want to do one more experiment first, but then I'll put it up.  Thanks for asking!  Smiley

Fabulous colors - that's my kind of granny!
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Baby blanket on: March 01, 2015 06:07:15 PM
I've been away from crochet for a long time.  I used to do a lot of it and then just didn't want to do it anymore.

Recently a co-worker had a baby coming and I thought I'd try a little crochet again.  Here's the result:

It's a pretty straightforward shell and picot pattern.  My coworker told me that his three-year-old liked it so much she tried to take it away from her baby brother, insisting it belonged to her.

My next project in this pattern is a request for one in orange - that should be interesting!

So these are made with floor wax and a mix of regular and superfine glitter:

Pretty fun and easy.  It would be a good craft to do with children.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: ONGOING ATC SWAP APRIL 2014 GALLERY on: May 26, 2014 06:02:05 PM
I'm terribly sorry to be so late posting these - had some technical difficulties.  They are both awesome and so worth the wait:

First, from artsycandice for a surprise (which turned out to be my tiny houses theme), this wonderful fabric and embroidery card:

And second, this beautiful card for my clotheslines theme from CDEeeek, a plethora of lovely vintage dresses that she got at an auction - isn't the detail wonderful? - I'm dreaming of those dresses now . . .

Thank you both - they really brightened up my day when they came!

I've missed you all - life kind of got in the way of art for the last couple of months.  Everything is so wonderful - you guys are all amazing!

jo_mama - I love the background on the whale - it really has an underwater quality that makes the drawing pop!

Kosmicgirl  - you never cease to amaze me - those pirates should be in a children's book and the hook would make a great cover!

Whysteria - the mermaid is adorable - I love the line work - what beautiful brush technique.

10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: FOCR 11 Winter Wonderland Gallery on: February 25, 2014 01:52:13 AM
I'm terribly tardy in posting a picture, my apologies.  I received this lovely soft cowl from Breegy.  I am quite fond of purple, so it was a lucky match!  Smiley

Thank you - I love it!
