I made a woven beaded watchband about four years ago, which I have worn non-stop, but recently one of the warp threads broke and it was all downhill from there.

I'm one of those people who isn't very good with time, so I really need
to wear my watch. Searching for a quick replacement, I found a card woven bookmark I had made and realized it could be converted into a watchband.
When I rolled the bookmark it was a little short, so I sewed some elastic on, which also made it easy to slip the watch on and off (you can see a little bit of the backside pattern of the cardweaving in this pic, too):

I'm not sure of a good way to finish the raw edges. The card weaving is too thick to fit under the watch bars, which is what I would do with a ribbon band.
